Thanks for another great year! As we wrap up, here are a few key reminders to help set you up for a smooth summer:

End-of-Year Checklist

☑️ Rehire Recent Grads

Student jobs must be terminated and SIS statuses updated before recent grads can be rehired as temps. TSS will process temp hire requests only after the student status is inactive in SIS.


☑️ Graduated Student Jobs

The week of June 2nd, TSS will retroactively end any active student jobs — effective June 1st — for graduated students listed in SIS.


☑️ Avoid Overpayments

Review Time Entry roster and promptly submit separations, leaves, and vacation time.


☑️ Contract Student Hires

Hiring contract students? End dates must be the 15th or the last day of the month.


☑️ Submitting Students' Retroactive Hours

Please inform TSS if you submit retroactive hours (i.e., hours worked during previous pay periods) for your student workers this summer. Since many students hold multiple jobs during the summer, retroactive hours may inadvertently be processed as overtime. This is often due to overlapping positions and multiple weeks of work being submitted at once without proper context.

Remember: Students not enrolled in summer classes and not exempt from FICA may have additional taxes withheld from their summer paychecks.
