Effective immediately, TTC will not be accepting any new membership applications. We will maintain a wait list for prospective members.
Our growth has been faster than anticipated and it is important to us that we do not sacrifice quality and service to our current membership. Our current members are our top priority.
We will continue to communicate with our members as things change. Thank you for your continued support.
Thank you,
Sean Bollettieri-Abdali

We are excited to announce that we are hosting another Member Only Tournament! March Madness will be held March 6th and 7th, and all members are welcome to participate!
Members will register individually for Women's Doubles, Men's Doubles and/or Mixed Doubles. Cost is $30 for one event, or $35 for two events.
If you have trouble registering, reply to this email and we will be happy to help with the process. Be sure your profile includes Newport Beach Pickleball Club, CA as your club (listed at the top of the dropdown menu.)
We will assign partners at the Draft Party on Friday, February 26th, beginning at 6pm. You do not need to attend the Draft Party to participate in the tournament, but we promise it will be a fun night!

Come join us for drop-in play on the Challenge Courts!
Courts 1,2, 3, and 4 are designated as Challenge Courts. This allows our members to play even when they don't have a scheduled match, especially during busy times. We encourage you to play on these courts, with the understanding that you may be challenged.
During peak periods, including weekend mornings, Courts 5 and 7 will also be used as Challenge Courts.
To challenge, place your paddle in the rack outside the court and notify the players you are making a challenge. Once the current match is completed, the winning team stays on the court and plays the challenger(s).

LEAGUE NIGHTS
(suspended)
|
|
Monday League - Intermediate
Tuesday League - Advanced Intermediate
Wednesday League - Advanced
|
|
Out of an abundance of caution, League Nights remain suspended at this time. Due to the nature of League, we don't want to encourage anyone who isn't 100% comfortable playing to feel pressured to do so because of the possibility of losing their League ranking.
Once we are able to resume League Nights, here are the details...
League play is a great way to compete with other TTC members at your skill level, it's competitive and fun! With the recent addition of Tuesday League for Advanced Intermediate, there's a place for everyone above the beginner level.
Registration for each League will begin after the results email is sent. To register for the following week, members must reply to the results email. Members who played the previous week will have priority for the following week. Court assignments will be emailed the day of League play.
Monday and Wednesday Leagues are preceded by a free clinic at 4pm with instruction by Abbi. All Leagues begin play promptly at 5:00pm (lower level) and 6:30pm (upper level). Arrive at least 15 minutes before scheduled play to check-in and warm up.
You don't need to play every week, just join us when you can. Let's play!
|
|
Please remember to always wear a mask, unless you are playing on a court. The CDC recommends that you wash your hands and sanitize before, during and after play.
We all feel like family, but must respect and maintain social distancing at this time. If you aren't feeling well, stay home and watch YouTube pickleball videos!
|
|
GroupMe is a great tool for our members to set up matches and sign up for events (other than League). Our page is "TTC Newport Beach Pickleball Club".
Remember your posts are being seen by all our members - GroupMe should not be used for personal communication.
We recommend muting your notifications on GroupMe as some of our members LOVE to post! To mute, click the icon on the top right of the screen - the top item is a toggle to mute.
A calendar of upcoming events can be found on GroupMe, under Calendar. This is where you will see Ladders and Sunday Fundays, as well as events posted by other members.

Patty Weber is the administrator of our GroupMe app. Give her a call at 480-292-1499 if you have any questions, she's happy to help!
You can set up a separate string within GroupMe to communicate with specific members. Here are some established subgroups that we currently manage:
- Saturday Ladder
- TTC Friday Ladies Ladder
- Dudes
Patty can walk you through the process if you need assistance.

Many new members are unaware of the "etiquette" of pickleball (and many "old" members may need a reminder!) We thought a few basic pointers might be helpful to all. We all want to be considerate of other members on the court!
- Please don’t enter or exit across a court when a point is in progress. Wait until play has stopped; then move briskly so as to not hold up the match.
- If entering or existing from one of the gates, be sure to close the gate behind you.
- If you hit an errant ball onto an adjacent court that is in the midst of a point, causing a potential safety issue, call out “Ball On” to notify other players and stop their play. If your errant ball is not a safety issue, wait until the point is over before retrieving your ball.
- Members are welcome to play music on the courts, but please be respectful of other players by keeping the volume at a level that it can only be heard on your court. If other members ask you to turn your music down, please do so.
|
|
Don't throw away your broken pickleballs! Bring them into the Pro Shop - one of our members is working on a special project and will put them to good use!
And if you've worn out your paddle and splurged on a new one from the Pro Shop, we would love to have your oldie but goodie for one of our new members to try out!
