Converge 2017

Mark your calendars for TTIA's premier advocacy events, Unity Dinner and Converge on the Capitol, in Austin February 15 & 16. 
This is the Texas travel industry's opportunity to join forces and collectively tell our elected officials why travel matters to our state's budget and speak to them about issues important to the success of our industry.  More details coming soon. 

Support TTIA's advocacy and educational efforts by donating to the Unity Dinner Silent Auction Fundraiser.  

A room block is available at the  Hilton Austin Hotel 500 E. 4th St.  TTIA Rate:  $249/night plus taxes and parking (35% discount on self parking)

Leadership Development Committee

The Young Professionals Committee is in the process of transitioning into a more focused, engaged and inclusive group by becoming the Leadership Development Committee chaired by the 2016 Rising Star Award Winner Thomas Wilhelm and Executive Committee and Board Member John Osborne, CEO of Visit Lubbock. The new Leadership Development Committee will focus on 5 areas including:
  1. An all new Mentorship Program
  2. Education Programming
  3. Networking Opportunities
  4. Event Volunteer Program 
  5. Idea Sharing Social Media component. 

Look for a call for Mentorship Program Applications and other program updates very soon.

TTIA Membership Changes
At Summit, the  TTIA Board of Directors approved membership payment terms and pricing changes for 2017:
  • 2017 TTIA membership payments will be due by January 31, 2017
  • A 3% annual price increase will take affect on February 1, 2017, therefore if members pay on-time they will not incur the 2017 price increase
  • All members who become 60 days past due will be removed from TTIA's membership list and communications
  • Premier and Prime Plus members will now be identified in three categories Gold, Silver and Bronze
  • Gold, Silver and Bronze members will be able to bundle their dues with other TTIA activities (Event registrations, sponsorships, etc.) into one annual payment which will also allow them to lock in their membership rate for 2 years

  • You're Invited: Free Birding On The Boardwalk in Port Aransas: Weekly guided birding tours are offered free of charge on Wednesdays at 9 a.m. at Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center. Find out more
  • The San Antonio City Council on has approved a new management agreement that essentially transitions the San Antonio Convention & Visitors Bureau to a new public-private 501(c)(6) nonprofit called Visit San Antonio.  Read more.
     
  • Destination El Paso has announced a new event: WinterFest, December 3 - January 8. The festivities will include an ice skating rink in downtown El Paso! Read more.
