MEMBER ANNOUNCEMENTS

Strength
Journey to the Third Age

TTNer, Rolene Walker is very excited to be offering a new class.  Rolene tells us:
The class is very interactive, people will be given structures, but they determine what their true work, rest, play and study are, and decide what activities they want to try out in each of those areas. They will be consultants to each other about mini case studies of people who have done well and not so well in transitioning to retirement.

The plans people have come up with in past classes have been incredible:
  • working on a film about the start of the Ethnic Studies Dept. at San Francisco State 50 years ago, and what young people will start now
  • starting discussion groups about the Great Books of the Western World
  • Working on legal issues about immigration pro bono.
It is amazing to see what people come up with when they have the opportunity to explore in a structured way what they want to do in terms of meaningful work for the Third Age.

When:  September 7 - October 26
Time:    6:00 - 9:00 PM
Where:  Friends Meeting House
