Would you like to feel more connected and involved with The Transition Network? Would you like to have a more active part in determining the direction of the chapter? Whether you are new to the chapter, have been with us for awhile, or haven't attended, but wanted to, here are some great opportunities.
Member Showcase and Birthday Celebration: On Sunday, April 14 from 2-4 PM, we will be highlighting our members and celebrating our one year anniversary as part of the National TTN organization. The event is open to the public and everyone is invited to attend. It will be held at the Woman's Club, 1616 Old Pecos Trail.
The Member Showcase will feature members who want to display a business or hobby, sell something, or share an interest or organization that's important to them. The cost to reserve a table is $25. Contact Jutta vonGontard, Treasurer, email@example.com to reserve a table and she will make arrangements with you about paying.
This is THE perfect time to promote your business, art, or volunteer activity. One can buy and sell; actively gain committed members for your non-profit; educate the public about your worthy cause; establish yourself in the Santa Fe Community. Please respond as soon as possible to our treasurer (above) as tables are limited.....you do NOT want to miss this opportunity.
Serving on a committee as a member or leader: Anyone in the chapter may express interest in serving on a committee or in a leadership role. It is a wonderful way to get to know others, to use your talent and skills and to give back to TTN. Fill out and return the volunteer form to Jeanne Roos (firstname.lastname@example.org)to let us know of your interest.
The Steering Committee is developing a succession plan and there will be openings for the following Steering Committee positions beginning in June 2013: Logistics, Treasurer and Member-at-Large. If you want to know more about these specific positions, please contact the current person serving in that job:
Logistics - Jeanne Roos - email@example.com, 982-8298
Treasurer- Jutta vonGontard - firstname.lastname@example.org, 820-0681
Member-at-Large - Betty Bartos - email@example.com, 670-6636
We are also looking for Co-Coordinators to begin attending Steering Committee meetings in 2013 to become familiar with the duties. They will begin serving in January 2014 for a term of two years. To find out more, contact current Coordinator - Jean Palmer - Jean@JeanPalmer.com, 954-1566
The other Steering Committee positions will be opening up in December 2013 and December 2014. More details on those in future newsletters.
Membership: The Zip-bonding sessions were fun and informative. Here are some comments: "When do we meet again?!" "I'm so happy to meet such really vital and interesting people." "It's exciting to know this group will greatly help me become more engaged in friendships and activities, like a gift box I'm quite excited to open."
A request that came from a Zip-bonding session was a desire to have the email addresses of the members. Members can access that by going to www.TheTransitionNetwork.org, clicking on the Members Only section, login and click Member Directory. You can then find a member by name, by chapter or by city or state. Some members have chosen not to share their contact information, and we ask that you only use the member information for personal contact, not for business solicitation.
When doing the Zip-bonding invitations, we used the member list from National and found some outdated information. Be sure to update your information with National so they are current and we have your most current information that way too.
Monthly Programs: Our monthly programs are open to all and the topic in March will be Cycles of Life Legacy Program. Note: The March programs are on the THIRD Monday evening, March 18 and the THIRD Tuesday afternoon, March 19 to avoid scheduling conflicts with Passover. Please remember that the monthly programs are fragrance free. Some have had to stop attending because of fragrances triggering asthma attacks. To find out more about this month's program, see below.
Gratitude: Thanks to Sheila, Membership Chair and Karen Hodges for their coordination of the Zip-bonding sessions and to those who hosted in their homes: Sheila Doran-Benyon, Maria Francis, Mary Rives, Jeanne Roos and Francesca Yorke. Thanks to the program committee for planning an exciting variety of programs for the remainder of 2013 that are interesting, provocative and relevant. Thanks to those who have stepped up and volunteered to help in any way and to those who will do that in the future.
Jean Palmer, Coordinator
