Transmission lines & towers/structures proposed by SDG&E through Temecula

SDG&E’s proposed powerline project will be presented at the City Council Meeting this Tuesday, May 26, at 3 PM.

If you would like to make a public comment, please plan to arrive at Temecula City Hall Council Chambers early to fill out a speaker slip.

The community is welcome to come hear about, and provide commentary on, the 500-kilovolt electric transmission lines & tower/pole structures currently proposed through Temecula.

NOTE: While the item appears later on the Agenda (linked here), the City Manager's Office expects the Mayor to exercise her prerogative to move the item closer to the 3 PM start time to best accommodate the public.

Background:

San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) is proposing the Golden Pacific Powerlink —140 miles of 500-kV high voltage transmission lines and tower/pole structures that will run through Temecula, specifically near/along SR 79, Temecula Pkwy/Temecula Creek, and De Luz/Santa Margarita Ecological Reserve/Santa Margarita River.

This directly impacts our City.
