Thank You

for your

financial support!

We pray that this newsletter and its contents that we share will help you on your daily journey with Christ, causing you to grow in the ways of the Lord.

The giftings of the fivefold ministry (Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, Teacher) should have one purpose, and that is the teaching and equipping of the saints until we come into unity.

This is why we teach so that you can grow stronger in your faith until unity comes in the body of Christ. Take what you have learned and share it with others so that we can further the kingdom for Jesus Christ.

INCREASE OR DECREASE

_____________________

Throughout scripture we see where God raised up a person for an assignment and when that assignment was finished there was change coming.

John the Baptist is a great example. His lineage came through Levitical priesthood as descendants of Aaron. His father, Zacharias was a priest and was visited by the angel Gabriel when he was burning incense in the temple. Gabriel declared that he would have a child with Elizabeth, his wife. It was miraculous because Elizabath was barren and stricken in years.

When John was born, he did not follow his father into the priesthood. God had a different assignment. He was a forerunner, preparing the way for the one who would come after him. John’s assignment was to prepare the way of Jesus, by bringing the people to a baptism of repentance, ready to receive Messiah. John had many followers, including Andrew and an unnamed disciple who most scholars believe was John, who would later follow Jesus.

In John 3:30 he was questioned about his ministry, and said, “He [speaking of Jesus] must increase, but I must decrease.”  John knew what his assignment was, and was the one that recognized who Jesus was, launching the ministry of Jesus.

John was later arrested because he called down Herod as an adulterer when he married his brother’s wife. While in prison, he had some doubts as to who Jesus was, but Jesus sent word to him to judge him by his mighty miracles. John then was satisfied that Jesus was indeed the Messiah, and shortly thereafter was beheaded. John fulfilled his assignment.

Another example is Vashti. She was King Artaxerxes beautiful wife. When asked to show herself to a bunch of drunken men she refused. She stood her ground, knowing that she would lose her position. Yet, it was part of God’s plan to allow Esther to become queen and save her people. Vashti decreased while Esther increased. Esther was sent “for such a time as this.”  God’s plan was fulfilled for both Vashti and Esther.

John and Esther both realized their assignment. We must also learn our purpose; whether it is to be a forerunner like John with a limited assignment, or the one that runs with the message, we must be willing to decrease, or be willing to increase. We listen to God, and do not get ahead of him, but are also willing to do his will when he bids us and not delay.

Do not hang on to something when it is finished. Let it go. God will have another assignment for you.

THE CHRISTMAS SERIES PART 4

WHEN WAS JESUS BORN?

_____________________

Many sources cite Jesus’ crucifixion as 33 A.D. based on the original premise that his birth originated the Anno Domini (A.D.) calendar. That is not correct.

The “Star of Bethlehem” that announced Jesus’ birth gives us the key. Many modern scientists, astronomers, and physicists have researched this unique occurrence. They determined it to be in the period of 3 B.C. to 5 B.C. Most Bible scholars take the midpoint of 4 B.C. as the most likely year of his birth on the presumption that it was a “star” event as the “wise men” certainly saw it to be. These wise men (magi) knew it to be an announcement of the birth in Israel of a great and mighty king - the one born Jesus, the King of Kings. They knew of the prophecy from the old scriptures. The next question is what time of the year was Jesus born? There are two schools of thought about that.

One thought is that He was born in the Spring, most likely at Passover since He was the “Passover Lamb” to be slain. This is backed up by the fact that the shepherds were “keeping their watch by night.” The shepherds normally kept their flocks in the grazing fields during the daytime, then put them into the sheepfold at night to keep them safe from wild carnivorous animals.

However, Springtime is when the pregnant sheep would deliver or “drop” their babies. A crowded sheepfold would endanger the life of the newborn who could be trampled to death. The open field provided a margin of safety, but the shepherds would keep watch for such deliveries both by day and by night out in the field. This timing would match the angel’s announcement. This would also make Jesus’ ministry a three-year period.

The second school of thought is that He was born in the Fall, likely corresponding to the Feast of Tabernacles. The Fall feasts all had a future prophetic significance. The Tabernacle (later the Temple) was the dwelling place of God in the Old Covenant. Messiah fulfilled all of the Old Covenant (Old Testament). His incarnation by birth meant that “God with us” now tabernacled among us, thus fulfilling the prophetic significance of the Feast of Tabernacles. This would put Jesus’ ministry as a three and a half-year period, preferred by most scholars (myself included).

Since we cannot establish the season of His birth conclusively, I have no problem of celebrating His birth on December 25. Although Christians of the first 300 years had no such celebration, it is good to celebrate and commemorate His birth as well as His death and resurrection. By having a designated fixed date, we can all celebrate it together worldwide.

PROPHETIC WORD

AS GIVEN TO HELEN SANDERS

Just as the tender sprouts long for the spring rain and are nourished when it comes, so you, too, have been longing for the refreshing that only I can bring. The season has been very dry for you my child, but I have allowed it to draw you closer to me, for in my presence is the spring rain, the summer growth, and the fall harvest. Every season is important for you, which has brought you to where you are today.

For there is a moment in time when I would say come and sit at my feet. As you do that you will feel the fresh spring rain fall upon your dry and weary soul. It is the place where the fallow ground is broken up and you receive the water of life. It is the place where we meet face to face, and you feel my presence. My child, you must surely know that the season of dryness, or winter has passed for you and things will start to break forth in many ways for you. You will see the old gone and the fresh new start of something better than was.

For you have endured when others did not do so. You have pressed through the hard ground when others did not do so. You have been found faithful, and I reward faithfulness. So, let the spring rain fall upon you and enjoy it. You will see that it has been worth the trials that you have gone through to bring you to this place. You will see things grow through the spring and summer, and there is a harvest for you that you have never dreamed of. For, I, the Lord am bringing the spring rain. Believe it, receive it, and conceive it saith the Lord.

Tuesday Scripture of the Day

“Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.””

‭‭Luke‬ ‭1‬:‭26‬-‭33‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

APOSTLE PAT MURRAY

PROPHETIC EXHORTATION

This is the season of peace on earth, yet many people have everything in their lives but real peace. Yes, we know some have “things” in their lives…While thinking those things will surely bring them peace. Oh, but it’s very evident they live each day wanting more things and better things; But still they seem to find themselves empty, lonely and searching for more of someone or something to calm their troubled mind. However, the truth remains the same with us all yesterday, today and forever; And the bottom line fact is simply put…The only real peace can and will be found in and through the person of Jesus Christ. Therefore let’s keep in mind that it’s only when we experience our own peace with Him; That we can better share His peace with the hurting people around us! In closing, let’s look together into God’s Word…The Bible in John 14:27…”Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." So as you go about these last few days leading up to Christmas; Be sure to keep the real peace and joy that you’re blessed to have shining ever so brightly…As you’re letting others know that Jesus is not just the reason for the season…But HE is THE SEASON HIMSELF. Yes, HE is all wrapped up in the person of JESUS CHRIST; Who came to earth one Silent Night in a little manger in Bethlehem. Now you be blessed as we join together in singing…. Oh, come let us adore Him…Christ The Lord.
