THE NAME OF JESUS

In and of ourselves we have very little authority in the natural realm. You may own a business and the “buck stops with you,” but that is only within your measure of influence. You have no authority over another person’s life or someone else’s life or business in the natural.

When God created Adam and Eve, He gave them authority or dominion. In Genesis 1:28 it says, “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue [have authority] it: and have dominion [authority] over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” This would include the serpent that came into the garden and deceived them.

When Adam rebelled and ate of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, he lost his authority or dominion that had been given to him by Jehovah God.

After sinning, Adam and Even were cast out of the Garden of Eden and lived by toil and the sweat of their brow. They no longer had dominion over anything. Yet, God promised them that one would come through the woman’s seed and crush the head of that serpent.

That one that came was Jesus. He defeated Satan by dying on the cross, being raised from the dead, and his sinless blood being placed on the altar in heaven as a payment for all mankind’s sin. He purchased back the authority given to Satan through his blood sacrifice.

We read in Matthew 28:18b that “…All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are given that same power through his name. Peter saw a lame man walk when he said in Acts 3:6, “…Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.” Immediately that lame man went walking and leaping and praising the Lord for his miracle. Peter did not heal the lame man. God did through Peter’s using the name of Jesus.

We have that authority also. When we pray to the Father in Jesus’ name, we also see great miracles performed. It comes through faith in His Name. His name is the greatest name there is.

Philippians 2:9-11 says, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” There is no name greater than Jesus. Use it for His glory!

THE CHRISTMAS SERIES PART 8

WE THREE KINGS OF ORIENT ARE – PART 2

The Magi were excited. They would go to honor this newborn king for whom they had waited for centuries – a great king born in Israel from their Chaldean bloodline. The journey would be long. They must take a few of their servants to protect them from robbers along the way. It would be a long caravan with numerous camels, magi, and servants.

We cannot know how many Magi made the trip. The traditional number of “three” was drawn from the fact that only three of the many gifts were specifically named due to their high value and prophetic significance. Surely more than just three took the journey, and the unnamed gifts were many.

Since they did not know the exact birth location, they went to Jerusalem to inquire of King Herod. Interestingly, these wise men knew of the birth, but none of the Jewish religious leaders knew of it. They only knew that Messiah’s birth had to be in Bethlehem according to prophecy, from the “City of David.”

Herod inquired when they first saw the star they were following had appeared and then told them to go find the child in Bethlehem. When they departed Jerusalem, they saw the same star they had seen in the east. It went before them to Bethlehem, and they followed it. The star stood over where the child was now living.

As they entered the house and saw the young boy (no longer a baby in a manger) with his mother, they fell down before him, and worshipped him. [Matthew 2:11] They presented him with many gifts. Three particularly expensive ones were gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Gold represented the purity of the Christ child born without any original sin nature. Only with such pure blood could He become our Redeemer King.

Frankincense showed an offering of worship to the King. Burning Incense has always been used to show a sweet-smelling odor of sacrifice in worship. Even Jewish priests burned incense to God in the Tabernacle, and later in the Temple.

Myrrh was an expensive spice often used in burials. It signified the death and burial of Jesus prophetically. Yes, they even brought His burial spice.

These three particular gifts were pre-ordained by God to further show who this special child was to be. There would have also been other gifts given to honor the newborn king.

You could say that even the heavens celebrated the birth of Christ. It is so appropriate that we should also do so – in a very reverent manner.

A PROPHETIC WORD

AS GIVEN TO HELEN SANDERS

For, have I not said in my word that I would lead you? Have I not said that I would lead you into paths of righteousness? Have I not said that I would lead you beside the still waters my child? Oh, yes, my child, I desire to lead you. I have desired that you follow me and see what I would show you. For I have much to show you of what I have prepared for you. The path that I would take you on will have many curves. There will be things that would cause you to fear but know that I am beside you. If I were to tell you all about the path, I am sure that you would cringe and say “Why, Lord? Why must I go down this path? Surely, there is an easier way, Lord.” But, my child, the easy way is not the way for you. You have been chosen to rise above the things that would bring fear to you and others, and the only way to do this is to go down the path I have chosen. I would say this, that as you go down this path, you will become stronger than you were before you went down it. I would say that the refiner’s fires will be hot on this path, but if you follow my lead, then you will come through as gold, silver, and precious stones that only come forth through the fiery trials. The only way is to follow me. The only way to grow is to follow me. You will not remain the same person as you go down this path that I lead you on. I can assure you that the changes that will take place will bring you to a place of peace, rest, and safety, saith the Lord. It is your choice, my child, to take the lead or follow me. I await your answer.

Our greatest comfort in this world full of problems is KNOWING that; Our Father GOD is STILL in CONTROL of things today. Therefore you can turn to HIM when the storms of sorrow threatens to take away your joy and your peace. In fact, there are times when it seems as if the foundation on which you stand is being taken out from under you. Oh, but I’ve got news for the devil and his sidekicks; For in times like this we too can…Run to THE ROCK Himself and that Rock is Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. Remember David the young shepherd boy who was destined for The Throne wrote these comforting words in Psalms 18:2…”The LORD is my protector; He is my Savior and my strong tower. God is my protection, and with Him I am safe. He protects me like a shield; He daily defends me and keeps me safe”. Today you too are safe in knowing that you have the same ROCK to depend on; So get yourself ready to run to HIM when everything around you starts going wrong. Indeed we too can go to that same WORD, READ it and STAND ON ITS PROMISES; While knowing our GOD will NEVER fail us…So let’s be expecting to have a Blessed Day.

You can have a battle with fear about something. Fear can be fleeting thoughts or a bondage that you know every day. It can be a lifetime of fear, especially concerning one thing, or it can be attached to something new in your life. It is written that "Fear has torment." Fear can even cause many physical reactions, especially deep rooted fear that is fed or "entertained" in our mind for long periods of time. When thoughts attached to fear present themselves, they better be met with faith in what God's Word says, or we will be ruled by fear. Avoiding something that we have fear of, is not freedom from fear, but avoidance of what triggers fear in us. Fear can take on a form that may look different in each of us and also the thoughts that trigger fear in us, may be completely different. Our vulnerability to fear may be attached to a learned mindset or an actual experience. Fear not only will be tormenting to us, but it can control us. "Perfect love casts out fear." The only "perfect love" is love in its purest form, from our Father in Heaven towards us. Our trust in Him and our faith in His Word, is our victory over fear and will help us stay in perfect peace, when we keep our mind or thoughts focused on Him.
