THE PRAYER OF FAITH

James 5:14-15 says, “Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up. And if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.”

Verse 15 ties this scripture together for healing. It says, “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed (healed from sickness).”

So, when one is sick, they call for the elders, confess their sins if they have committed any and then be anointed with oil. The prayer of faith will then raise that person up from their sickness.

Since this scripture is written to the “brethren,” which are believers it shows us that the same faith that leads one to salvation is also the faith that heals the saved person. The word saved in this verse means “heal.” Remember, this passage of scripture is written to the “brethren” or believers.

The faith that heals is the same faith that saves. Jesus heals. Jesus saves.

Faith is faith whether it be for healing or salvation or whatever petition [request] you ask of the Lord Jesus.

How do you grow greater faith? Faith comes by hearing the word of God, but it grows when we exercise the faith that we already have. Just as a muscle grows in your body with exercise, so also does faith grow as you exercise it.

UNBELIEF

Jesus’ disciples were approached by a man whose son was a lunatic. He often fell into the fire and water. The man needed deliverance, but they were unable to help him. He came to Jesus and told him that his disciples could not cure him.

This encounter was followed by a rebuke. Jesus answered the man and said in Matthew 17:17-18, “Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer [put up with] you? Bring him hither to me. 18 And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.”

Later Jesus’ disciples came to him and asked him why they could not cast out the devil. In Matthew 17:20 he replied with, “…because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.”

So, we see the problem was unbelief. Jesus goes on in verse 21 and says, “Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.”

What did Jesus mean by “this kind”? I believe he was talking about the disciples unbelief, and not the devil in the boy. You see, if they had faith they could have cast that devil out, but their “unbelief” kept it from happening.  

If we have unbelief in our lives, it comes out through prayer and fasting. During prayer and fasting, our faith is rekindled and we become stronger in the Lord. We grow closer to Him and learn our authority when he speaks to us.

Do you have faith in casting out devils? If not, then unbelief needs to be removed from your life just like it needed to be removed from the disciple’s lives. It is removed by prayer and fasting. Then, you will see deliverance when you minister to others because you also have been delivered.

Prophetic Exhortation

I am hearing God say, "Wait!" I perceive there are those that would forge ahead without listening to God's instructions. If they continue in that path there will be a bridge out. Waiting is not a bad thing! It may save your life!

PROPHETIC EXHORTATION

There comes the time in life when we all must take a STAND; For you know enough is ENOUGH…And it’s past time for us as God's people to go forward in FAITH. Yes, it’s time for real Christians to start REFUSING to; Allow anyone or anything to get them down, slow them down…And much less STOP them from doing ALL that God created them and called them to do. So join with me as we glean from the words Apostle Paul wrote to his son in the faith Timothy. “Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses". (I Tim. 6:12) Now put on the whole armor of God and be ready to STAND in this evil hour. (Ephes. 6:11) It's going to be a great day for you; So make the most of it, Be blessed and remember…The time has come for you to take a firm stand and be everything God made you and called you to be.

There is a bridge, to whatever you are

Going through. The Bridge, being prayer.

Prayer will be the answer to your crossing

Over to the truth, with perseverance and

Determination. To press on, being the

Immovable object directed by God the Father.

The most perfect of Bridges held up by the,

Most high. Your prayers to God the Father,

Do you not see that this is your answer?

The answer to happiness. Walk the Bridges

With prayer and know God hears your every,

Word. Be patient too, for God will answer

But at the right time, and what is best for you.
