BE A PERSON AFTER GOD’S OWN HEART

Throughout the Psalms we see David either bringing praise to God for all his mighty acts or crying out to God out of his distress. He sought God’s heart for his life, and God blessed him because of it.

In Acts 13 Paul is preaching and in verse 22 speaking of King Saul, he said, “And when he had removed him [Saul as king], he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, ‘I HAVE FOUND DAVID THE SON OF JESSE, A MAN AFTER MINE OWN HEART, which shall fulfil all my will.”

Paul was quoting 1 Samuel where the Lord spoke to Samuel in verse 7 after looking at David’s older brothers and seeing God reject them as the future king. It says, “But the LORD said unto Samuel, ‘Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; [King Saul had been taller than the other men] because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.’”

David was not tall like Saul. He was not a soldier. He was not the oldest, but the youngest. He was a shepherd that spent time out under the stars with sheep. He wasn’t thought of as anything but a “keeper of a few small sheep” (1 Samuel 17:28).

God is not impressed with our natural giftings or what we look like. It is not how beautiful we are physically. He looks at the inner man or woman’s heart, our spirit, where he sees us for who we really are.

Don’t determine your value to God by giftings or physical appearance. Your value is determined on how you love God. He will know if you are a person after His heart. He knows whether you forsake all others for Him. He knows the real you, my friend, and that is all that counts.

Be a person after God’s own heart, and you can never fail God.

PROPHETIC EXHORTATION

Just as a seed takes time to sprout and then grow, it often takes time for our prayers to be answered. You don't dig a seed up to see if it is growing, do you? Then don't dig up the promises of God after you have planted them in prayer. The waiting process develops faith, patience, and trust in the Lord.

Tuesday Thought For Today

As I sit here and ponder the news events of the day, I am reminded of Your mercy and grace that covers me. I am amazed by Your love. You hold me in the palm of Your hand and I am safe. There is no other God but You. And I rejoice at just being in Your Presence. Thank you for restoring my life and setting me free. Thank you for saving me.

This was and is my story. And each of you have a story of God’s amazing grace and mercy over your life. It is so important to share God’s amazing story with others. Don’t be afraid to share what God has done for you. We won’t know til we get to heaven how our testimony affected those who heard it.

”My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness And Your salvation all the day, For I do not know their limits. I will go in the strength of the Lord God; I will make mention of Your righteousness, of Yours only. O God, You have taught me from my youth; And to this day I declare Your wondrous works. We should all know this one thing and forever keep it in our hearts, minds and in our spirits. Now I believe the following to be true; The WORST way to ever try dealing with the PAIN of being HURT by someone or something is to PRETEND that it does NOT hurt. However, the TRUTH of the matter is; IF you try and DENY that PAIN, you will DELAY your HEALING. Just keep in mind that HEALING will only take place; IF you CONFESS to yourself and to GOD that it really does HURT. So learn to FORGIVE yourself and others as you come into the PRESENCE of GOD. You will find that God WILL be there waiting for you; As He pours His OIL into your wounds and puts His PEACE in your heart. It's then you will find that God IS making you BETTER than NEW; And much HAPPIER than you ever were before. Now you RISE up and REJOICE and you WILL be totally HEALED in JESUS Name!

Some hold your sins against you, even after God has set you free from every one of them and "wiped the slate clean". There are no "second class" Christians in God's eyes. We all are just as saved and redeemed by the Blood of Jesus, as the other one. We might have "healed scars" but we are not stained with sin anymore. Sometimes our "healed scars" determine the area of ministry to others, by God. "Whom the Son sets free, is free indeed."
