ENMITY BETWEEN THE SEEDS
In the book of Genesis chapter 3 after Adam and Eve had sinned, God spoke to Adam, Eve, and the serpent. In vs. 15 God speaks to the serpent and says, “And I will put enmity (hostility) between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” This enmity has been going on since the garden.
Satan has tried to destroy the “seed of the woman” ever since. In the days of Moses’ birth, all the male Hebrew babies were to be destroyed at birth to stop propitiation of the “seed” blood line. Of course, Satan was the influence behind Pharaoh making this decision, but God preserved the seed by preserving Moses. Then when Jesus was born, King Herod decreed all male babies two years and under to be destroyed that lived in Bethlehem because he was told by the chief priests and scribes that the seed of David, the Messiah, would be born in Bethlehem. God preserved the divine seed, Jesus Christ, through a dream given to Joseph, Mary’s husband. Satan did not win.
Then Satan tried to destroy the seed through the crucifixion, death, and burial of Jesus Christ. Little did he know that the seed would come forth on the third day through the resurrection. Nothing stopped that seed.
Satan tries to stop the seed (the word) from being planted in an unbeliever’s heart to receive salvation, but many receive it willingly. Satan loses again!
Satan will always go after the seed to stop the reproduction, whether it is a seed of hope, a seed of a vision, a seed of healing or whatever that has been planted in us. Just like it was with Jesus as an infant, we must protect the seed so that it is not destroyed.
If you are going through a dry season the devil will try to tell you that God does not care. He will whisper lies into your ear to rob you of the seed of hope. If you are waiting for healing that you have prayed for, the devil will try to steal the seed of healing to keep you from receiving.
If you are waiting for finances to come in, the devil will try to rob the seed that you have planted in faith, to bring a financial crop failure.
Do not think it is unusual when these attacks come. It was prophesied in Genesis 3:15 that there would be enmity against the seed, so take heart! Know that you have been given authority by the seed of the woman (Jesus Christ). By using the name of Jesus, it defeats all of Satan’s ploys. We have the power to step on the serpent’s head and stop him! The seed of the woman, Jesus Christ, is greater in you than any seed of doubt that Satan can plant!
