Every year, Driver Appreciation Week gives the industry an opportunity to focus on showing professional drivers our respect and thanks for all they do. TVC Pro-Driver prides itself on providing professional legal support day in and day out for our members, but the team of pros behind the pros wanted to do something special to support the events being hosted by its fleet customers this Driver Appreciation Week.

On August 23, more than 50 TVC employees donated their time to pack gifts for TVC’s fleet customers and sign cards expressing their appreciation. From toiletry bags to help make life on the road a little more comfortable to a variety of items like water bottles and gift cards, TVC donated more than 10,000 gifts to fleets across the country to help make their Driver Appreciation Week events a success.

During Driver Appreciation week and all year long, the team at TVC appreciates our nation’s hard-working professional drivers.

The stigma around talking about mental health has certainly lessened in the past decade, but there’s still a long way to go to proactively address the impact of workplace-related stress, especially in the trucking industry.

World Mental Health Day is October 10, so now is a good time to check in with yourself and examine your stress levels. Common stress-related conditions include:

  • Exhaustion. Time away from home can lead to feeling mentally—and even physically—exhausted. If you think you're suffering from exhaustion, consider adjusting your schedule to prioritize rest. Additionally, as a TVC Pro-Driver member, you can take advantage of our healthcare discount program, which features savings of up to 50% on healthcare needs — including mental health needs — and 24/7 virtual access to board-certified physicians

  • Cynicism. Believing others are only looking out for themselves can happen when experiencing interpersonal conflict, departmental friction, a lack of communication from managers, and feeling disrespected or undervalued. Owner-operators can address this by connecting with peers and sharing tips for dealing with everyday frustrations. Fleet drivers can check in with management and share ideas for improving lines of communication.

  • Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)Once fall and winter set in and sunlight hours are reduced, many people suffer from symptoms of SAD, including depression, anxiety, loss of energy and difficulty concentrating. You can address SAD by exercising healthy habits like physical exercise, healthy eating and proper rest.

We're here for our members! Take care of yourselves, and if you need anything from TVC Pro-Driver, please don't hesitate to reach out.

It’s a nightmare all professional drivers share: the thought of falling asleep behind the wheel, which can lead to tragic consequences.

Nearly 1/3 of truck drivers have obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), which can cause breathing to stop for up to 10 seconds at a time during sleep. Sleep disorders like OSA can reduce cognitive functionality, impair driving performance and decrease drivers’ reaction times.

If you think you might have OSA or another sleep disorder, we urge you to contact your doctor, or utilize one of many home sleep tests available

Protect yourself and others while on the road. Prioritize quality sleep and enjoy increased productivity and an improved quality of life!

People across the nation are experiencing inflation-related woes — but individuals in the trucking industry have been hit particularly hard. When cost-related fear threatens to take hold, turn to the pros behind the pros at TVC Pro-Driver. We have several programs in place to help drivers reduce expenses in common areas, including tires, fuel and insurance.

  • Fuel Savings. Pro Plus and VIP Pro can take advantage of the Fuel Card program and save nearly $8,000 a year. To enroll or update your membership, contact sales@prodriver.com

  • Insurance Savings. TVC Pro-Driver helps keep drivers’ records clean and fleets’ insurance rates low by performing free DataQ challenges for every case.
