DOES THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE MATTER?

You might think that Gerrymandering in Utah was coming to end with Judge Gibson throwing out the old map and declaring it a "result of an unconstitutional process." Well, you would be wrong. The battle continues and time is running out.

What to know:

  • Republicans are still against having fair maps. State Senator Brady Brammer has authored a Draft Redistricting Standards Bill that undermines the anti-gerrymandering goals of Proposition 4, and it is designed to benefit only one political party - a violation of the rules listed in Proposition 4.
  • The newly formed Legislative Redistricting Committee (8 Republicans, 2 Democrats) is trying to narrow down which maps will be proposed to the full legislature in a special session on October 6.
  • The Republican expert drew five different maps. You can review them here.
  • The Democrats expert drew one map, here.
  • A Utah resident drew one, here

Two Veterans, Two Paths: A Contrast in Leadership

Two Veterans are in the news a lot these day. One is Pete Hegseth, the Secretary of War (emit growl, make mean face). The other is Congressman Jason Crow of Colorado’s 6th Congressional District. We are just starting to see him on the national stage, and I hope we’ll see much more of this honorable, decorated veteran. Hegseth is the MAGA darling, a former Fox weekend newscaster, his hair oozing product, his shirt collar sporting a pretty-boy look. Substance takes a back seat.... Continue reading

No Kings October 18 2025 TogetherWorks Southern Utah

Bringing a sign? Consider one with a"Release the Epstein Files" theme. A sentiment in these times which is oddly unifying.

No Kings!

October 18, 2025 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Vernon Worthen Park

300 S 400 E

St. George, UT 84770

No Kings Rally in the Park. We will be meeting at the same place(s) as last time: near fire pits and covered tables by pickle ball courts, on the East side of the park.

When we organize these kinds of events, we work closely with the St George Police to ensure a safe gathering. We ask that you sign up for the rally so that we have some idea of how many people will be there. However, signing up is not required to attend.

RESPECT, KINDNESS & HUMANITY WINS

According to the organizers it was a record breaking crowd a the 2025 Pride in the Park festival in St. George. TWSU and Southern Utah Indivisible joined together and had a blast meeting and greeting people, enjoying great music, food and fine weather. A community event worth attending!

"Queer people are not asking for special treatment. We are asking for the same chance as everyone else: to live long enough to die of old age. Utahns deserve leadership that upholds that simple, human promise."
