TXCPA 2025 Legislative Agenda
TXCPA Fort Worth chapter leaders attended TXCPA’s Advocacy Day and Midyear Leadership Council Meeting in Austin from January 27-29. Over three days of meetings, they received legislative updates, learned about TXCPA’s strategic plan progress, and participated in electing the 2025-26 Leadership Slate.
As part of Advocacy Day, leaders visited the Texas Capitol to meet with legislators, voicing support for key legislation that will impact the future of the CPA profession:
CPA Mobility Legislation: HB 1764 (Rep. Angie Chen Button)/SB 522 (Senator Charles Perry) addresses CPA practice mobility and out-of-state practice privileges. This legislation is crucial as Texas and the nation navigate licensure changes
Alternate CPA Pathways: HB 1757 (Rep. Angie Chen Button)/SB 262 (Senator Charles Perry) is a top priority for TXCPA’s 2025 Legislative Agenda and an exciting step toward expanding opportunities for future CPAs.
Thank you to our chapter leaders for representing Fort Worth and advocating on behalf of all Texas CPAs! Don't forget to visit TXCPA's Legislative Action Center to stay up-to-date on our key legislative priorities.
