#Adulting is TXCPA Fort Worth's community outreach program promoting financial literacy. We bring the board game, Life, well – to life! This program is a great way to explain budgeting and financial decision-making and a fun opportunity for members to get involved and make a connection.

Sometimes it is hard to set aside time for things we enjoy doing without a group or dedicated commitment, so bring your portable crafts - needlework, scrapbook layout, coloring, macrame...and be part of the #CPAConnection.
Senate Bill 951 (Perry) and House Bill 2504 (Button) – allowing more accounting students to have access to Texas State Board of Public Accountancy scholarship funds – have been introduced in both chambers. These bills have also received a welcome reception and we look forward to getting them heard in committee in the coming weeks.

As we get closer to committee hearings and floor debates, you will be hearing from TXCPA and government relations staff on how you can make your voices heard. We will be asking you to engage, both by phone and email, to show your support for our bills and let legislative offices know how important these bills are to our CPA pipeline and advocacy efforts.

Nominate an Outstanding Accounting Educator 

Do you know a Texas accounting educator who goes above and beyond to inspire and champion the next generation of CPAs? Give them the recognition they deserve by submitting a nomination for TXCPA’s Outstanding Accounting Educator Award by March 30, 2023. This annual award recognizes those who have demonstrated excellence in teaching and have distinguished themselves through active service to the accounting profession.

TXCPA’s Awards Committee is also accepting nominations for Meritorious Service to the Profession, Distinguished Public Service, Outstanding Committee Chair, Distinguished Fellow, Honorary Member, Young CPA of the Year, and the Business and Industry Award. These award nominations are all due by April 24, 2023.
