UPCOMING DATES

Texas Disaster Relief

Continue to pray for the communities of Central Texas that were ravaged by flooding this past week. If you would like to give, then we encourage you to give to Texans on Mission (the disaster relief efforts of Texas Baptists) who already have chaplains and recovery teams working in the area: Texans on Mission

Fellowship with First Baptist Church

First Baptist Church of Carrollton is hosting our second annual combined fellowship on Wednesday, July 9 at 6 PM. We will meet at The Place across the street from FBC at 110 S. White Street. We're looking forward to a wonderful evening of fellowship, games, food, singing, prayer, and praising the Lord. First Baptist Church will be providing the main course, and we encourage everyone from Tabernacle to bring potato salad, beans, or a dessert to share. Inflatables will be available for kids.

Kimmel Reception

Join us on July 20, immediately following the worship service, for a special reception honoring Pastor James Kimmel and his family. After more than seven years of faithful service as Worship Pastor at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Pastor James is stepping down from his role. Let’s come together to express our gratitude, share memories, and pray for him and his family as they enter this next chapter.

Family Night at Midtown Family Waterpark

Dive into summer fun with your family! We invite you to Family Night at Midtown Water Park on Sunday, July 20, from 7:30-9:00 PM. Contact Crystal Gilley in the church office to sign up by July 16.

Samaritan's Purse Christmas Boxes

Throughout July, you can pick up a shoebox in the Welcome Center so you can pack it with fun toys, hygiene items, and school supplies for a boy or girl in need. Through this project, Samaritan's Purse partners with local churches worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations. Please return these boxes to the Missions Hallway Donation Bin marked for Operation Christmas Child by Sunday, July 27.

Quarterly Church Conference

Our next Quarterly Church Conference is Sunday, August 3, at 4 PM in the Chapel.

Volunteer In Media

Interested in being part of something exciting and meaningful? Our media team is seeking volunteers to be part of our live production during the worship service. Positions include Camera Operator, Audio Board Operator, Lyrics Operator, Lights operator, and directors. Whether you are tech-savvy or completely new to this, we have roles available for everyone. No prior experience is required as training is provided. This is a great way to serve, gain new skills and experience in media, and be part of a fun and creative team. If you are interested in volunteering, contact our Media & Communications manager, Adam Tucker at adam.tucker@tabernacle.org.

UWG Move-In Days

The University of West Georgia is seeking volunteers to assist with Fall 2025 Move-In, and they have asked Tabernacle to help! This is a wonderful opportunity for our community to help students and their families feel at home from the moment they arrive in West Georgia. Volunteer responsibilities include directing traffic, helping unload vehicles, or simply offering a friendly smile. Move-In Days at UWG are 8 AM-5 PM, Friday, August 8 and Saturday, August 9. If you're able to assist, please sign up by clicking the button.

BE IN PRAYER

Germany & Austria Worship Mission Trip

Twenty Tabernacle members will be on a worship trip to Germany and Austria July 8-16. The group will trace Christian heritage sites in the steps of Martin Luther, will have an opportunity to serve an English speaking Baptist congregation in Germany, and will have fun together as they see God’s beautiful creation. Please pray for traveling mercies, safety, and for Gospel opportunities as they travel and minister to others.

Preteen Camp

Next week, a group of our preteens and leaders will head to Alabama for an awesome week of camp! Please be praying for our kids, leaders, and the camp staff who make the week happen. Pray that hearts would be open to God’s Word, friendships would deepen, and lives would be changed. We’re excited to see how God will move in and through our group!

Scott's Hope Camp

Scott’s Hope Camp is a ministry that provides children with special needs the opportunity to experience a modified version of Vacation Bible School. From Wednesday to Friday this week, we will welcome 22 campers to enjoy a program specially designed to meet their unique needs. Please pray for every participant and volunteer to encounter the life-changing love of Jesus throughout this week!

CELEBRATIONS

Camp Hawkins

We’ve received an awesome report from our team of 15 members who served at Camp Hawkins this past week. They provided support services and planned various activities for 10 campers with advanced special needs (and their assigned caregiving counselors). We praise God for the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus for these beloved people.

League of Friends Parade

Thank you to everyone who came out for our annual League of Friends Parade. Members from the church and community did a wonderful job showing up and bringing joy to our remarkable friends from our special needs ministry

BY THE NUMBERS

Giving Information

Thank you for your faithful giving, which allows our church to do meaningful ministry in our community! You may drop off gifts during regular office hours (Monday through Thursday, 8:30 AM-5:30 PM, or Friday, 8:30 AM-1 PM). You may also give in person during the worship service, mail your gift, give online on our website, text "tabernacle150" to 73256, or give on Venmo at https://venmo.com/u/tabernaclebaptist.

Worship Center Organ Fund

We are focusing on our Worship Center organ fund. You may be aware that our analog instrument from the 1980s needs to be replaced with a digital instrument because we continue to see a decline in functionality, sound quality, and parts from that era of technology are no longer being made. Currently, $148,700 has been given to the fund, and we are over halfway to our goal! Our organ selection team has selected a builder for our next instrument with a ballpark cost of $280,000. Please consider making a gift so that our worship ministry can continue to lead with excellence for future generations. Gifts in honor or memory of a loved one are encouraged.
