Be Transformed by Christ. See Transformation for Christ.
Our mission is to know, show, and share the love of Jesus Christ with our community and world.
HOLY WEEK AT TABERNACLE
Holy Week at Tabernacle
We will have three worship services to help mark Holy Week as a special season of celebration, and each is important as we observe the full story of Christ’s Passion. First, on Palm Sunday, April 5, we will celebrate Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem in our normal 11 AM worship service as our kids wave palm branches. On Maundy Thursday, April 9, at 6:30 PM, the Tabernacle Choir & Orchestra will lead in a service specifically focused on the cross and taking The Lord’s Supper in a special way. On Easter Sunday, April 12, we will celebrate the most exciting Sunday of the year in our normal 11 AM worship service, as we proclaim that Jesus is ALIVE! Invite someone to join us!
ALL CHURCH
Annie Armstrong Offering
Our prayers and gifts to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering provide support for thousands of missionaries. These men and women are planting new churches in unreached communities and meeting needs through compassion ministries. Everyday lives are being impacted and transformed. The needs are great, but the living hope of Christ is greater. The Missions Partnership Council has set a goal of $15,000 for the 2020 Annie Armstrong Easter offering. $7,500 will go for North American Mission Board and $7,500 will go toward purchasing a new van for our mission partners at Club 180 in Cumberland, Kentucky.
Guest Student Choir
We will host the Student Choir from First Baptist Kissimmee, FL in our morning worship service this Sunday, March 15. They will also serve and give concerts around our community and at Tabernacle next week. We are excited about having them in Carrollton for their mission trip!
Easter Lily Sale
Help decorate our church on Easter Sunday by purchasing an Easter Lily in honor or memory of a loved one. Each plant is $15 and order forms may be found in the church office or at the Welcome Center. The deadline is Monday, April 6. Plants can be taken home after the worship service on Easter Sunday, April 12.
Darkness Into Light
Learn simple and practical actions you can take to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. The training is for anyone who works with children and youth - however, the training is also open to anyone who would like to know more about helping victims of sexual abuse. The training will be held on March 31 at 6 PM in the Fellowship Hall. Call the church office or email Crystal Gilley to sign up by March 27.
VBS 2020 - Concrete and Cranes
We are currently seeking volunteers to assist with Vacation Bible School; VBS will be June 8-11. If you are interested in serving as a volunteer or would like to go ahead and register your children for VBS, please see Lauren Charles or Jaton Leverette. They will be available at the table outside the Worship Center after the Sunday morning worship services on March 15 and 22.
Called Church Conference
There will be a church conference at the end of the morning worship service on March 15 to vote on a recommendation from the Nominating Committee that Joe Murrah (chairperson), Kim Farmer, Andi Burson, Lauren Charles, Michael Cleek, Kenneth Cooke, and David Smith serve on a Student Pastor Search Committee.
Who's Your One Prayer Wall
Over 300 names were submitted on Who's Your One Commitment Sunday. The names have been displayed on our wall outside the worship center. Our hope is that each time you pass by the wall, you will stop, take out a card and pray for someone's "one." Also, pray for the person who submitted the name. After you are finished, please return the card to the wall. If you would like to add a name, please feel free to do so.
