Our Vision is to be Transformed by Christ and to see Transformation for Christ.
Easter Sunday Survey
As we prepare for Easter Sunday morning, please take one minute to fill out the following survey (one per person/family). We have been planning for an incredible Sunday morning, but would like to gather a little more information.
Holy Week begins this Sunday, March 28 and gives us an opportunity to Celebrate the last week of Jesus' life and ministry on earth in a unique way. Because we were unable to celebrate Holy Week together last year, observing these events with other believers will be an edifying and uplifting experience for us this year.
Palm Sunday, March 28
On Palm Sunday, we will celebrate Jesus' entry into Jerusalem with festive music and children waving palm branches during the worship service at 11 AM. Children (age 4 and up) will meet in the Welcome Center at 10:50 AM to receive their palm branches after Sunday School. After the first song, children will be free to sit with parents for the remainder of the service.
Maundy Thursday, April 1
On Maundy Thursday at 6:30 PM, our choir and orchestra will lead in a special time of worship focusing on Christ's death on the cross. We will sing, read scripture, and have times for silent reflection with the service culminating in the observance of the Lord's Supper. Childcare will be provided for children age 3 and below.
Easter Sunday, April 4
On Easter Sunday, we will celebrate the greatest day in all of history as we proclaim that Christ has victory over death. Gathering with church family on this day marks an important milestone as we have walked through the challenges of this past year. We will confidently raise our voices in song as we celebrate the Resurrection and the Hope that we find in Jesus Christ. Sunday School will meet at 10 AM.
Journey to the Cross
The Journey to the Cross personal prayer time we have offered in the chapel in past years will be an online only experience this year. Please click the link below for the Journey to the Cross document. This will be a good resource for you to use on Good Friday following our Maundy Thursday service.
Easter Lilies
Help decorate our church on Easter Sunday by purchasing an Easter Lily in honor or memory of a loved one. Each plant is $15, and order forms may be found at the Help Desk in the Welcome Center. The deadline is Sunday, March 28. Plants can be taken home after the worship service on Easter Sunday, April 4. Lilies can be paid for with cash, check, or online giving.
Tabernacle's Egg-cellent Adventure
Calling all Easter Egg Hunters! Gather together at the pavilion on Sunday, March 28 right after the worship service for a pizza luncheon followed by an Easter Egg Hunt. We'll have tables and chairs, or bring a quilt and have a pizza picnic! Families with young children should sign up with Mrs. Dana by Friday, March 26. Crafts, pizza, candy, eggs, and hunting--sounds like an EGG-cellent adventure for sure!
Annie Armstrong
We have begun our Annie Armstrong Easter offering emphasis for North American missions. Every dollar of this offering goes to support our Baptist missionaries serving in North America. Our church's goal this year is $20,000 and we will receive the funds through Easter Sunday. Please prayerfully consider contributing in addition to your normal tithes and offerings. Total given to date: $4,149.00.
Breathe Mid-Week Worship Service
We all need a space to pause our busy lives, take a deep breath, and reflect on God’s calling for each of us. We are offering a weekly opportunity for you to do that through Breathe, a Mid-Week Worship Service. Occurring simultaneously with Children’s WAM! and Student Connect programs on Wednesday Nights, we will meet in the Tabernacle Chapel at 6 PM for a time of worship led by Pastor James and biblical reflection with Pastor Stephen.
Texas Disaster Relief Trip
The Carrollton Baptist Association will be sending a Disaster Relief Team to Austin, Texas, to assist churches in the aftermath of the recent blizzard. The team will leave from Tabernacle at 6 AM on Saturday, March, 27, 2021, and return on Saturday, April 3, 2021. All skill sets and levels of expertise are needed and welcomed for this effort. The total cost of the trip will be $200. Please e-mail Chuck Griffith if you have questions or are interested in going.
Zoom In On Marriage
Zoom in on Marriage is a two night Zoom event for young couples to connect with each other while enjoying fellowship with friends in the comfort of your own home! Join Greg and Barbara Williams as they encourage couples to grow in their relationships. We will meet on April 23 and 24 from 8:30-10 PM. This is a free event and no babysitters are required. Each night will be themed: Friday is dress like your first date, Saturday is escape on a Hawaiian vacation. Sign up begins soon.
