Tabernacle's Community Service Day

Join us on Saturday, July 20 for this outreach opportunity outside the walls of our church. We will have several projects to choose from to serve our community. This is a family friendly event for all ages.

Tables are set up in Fellowship Hall for the following donations: pop-top canned meats and other non-perishable food items, Velveeta cheese, canned tomatoes, chips (all kinds), canned mandarin oranges, sugar, and protein/cereal bars. Please bring your donations now or to the service day.

We will gather at 8:30 AM for doughnuts and assignments, returning to the church at 12:00 PM for a light lunch and share time.

Cumberland Mission Trip

Mission trip volunteers are currently serving in Kentucky assisting the Burkeen family in running their weekly program for children in the Cumberland area. We are providing bible studies, crafts, recreation, and meals. Please pray for our group to have a safe and successful trip.

Midtown Water Park Family Night

It's summer swim time! Bring the whole family to Midtown Water Park on Sunday, July 14, starting at 7:30 PM.

Quarterly Church Conference

Summer Reflection Service

Our next Quarterly Church Conference will be held Sunday, July 21 at 4:00 PM in the chapel. Be sure to stay for the Summer Reflection Service which will be held at 5:00 PM in the Worship Center. We will be voting to approve the new deacon panel, changes to personnel policy, and changes to the Nominating Committee policy.

Lord's Supper

We will observe the Lord's Supper during our worship service on Sunday, August 4. Come celebrate what Jesus Christ has done for us.

Welcome, Aaron Story!

Aaron Story has begun work at Tabernacle as our new part-time Media & Communications Manager. After several months of searching and interviewing candidates, we were delighted to bring him on board as part of our staff team. Aaron is coordinating all of our communications, including the Tidings, and will also be helping out on Sundays with our media team. In addition to Sunday mornings, Aaron will be in the office on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. If you see him, please give him a warm welcome to Tabernacle! Also, a huge thank you is due to Debbie Collins who did a phenomenal job as she filled this role temporarily.

DISCIPLESHIP MINISTRY

B.L.A.S.T. For Bible Study Leaders

Attention all Sunday School leaders! Come join us for mid-summer leadership training on Thursday, July 18, 6 - 7:30 PM, in the Fellowship Hall. A light supper will be provided. Contact Marie Ragsdale in the church office for sign up.

Darkness Into Light Child Abuse Training

This training is for anyone who works with children or youth. Learn simple and practical actions you can take to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. Contact [email protected] to sign up by July 22.

Prayer For Teachers

Teacher prayer service on Wednesday, July 24 at 11:00 AM in the chapel. This is open to all teachers. For more information, contact Vickie Brookings or Mary Lou Grimmett in the church office.

STUDENT MINISTRY

Youth Rafting Trip

Attention all youth! Come join us for a fully guided rafting trip on July 26-27. The cost is $90 and includes rafting, meals and lodging. Sign up and a $40 deposit is due by July 10. Contact Crystal Gilley or Wally Dedman to sign up.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Bible Presentation for First and Second Graders

On August 4, the first and second graders will be presented with bibles and backpacks during the Sunday morning worship service.

MISSIONS MINISTRY

Community Needs

Open Hands, our community food and assistance center, needs unscented baby wipes, pop-top fruit, and bar soap. Alice's House, a local children's home, needs deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, bath towels . Items may be dropped off in the hallway by the Fellowship Hall.
