Year-end Giving Info
As the end of the year quickly approaches and you are finalizing your holiday list, do not forget your year-end giving plan. The Food Bank turns every $1 donated into $21 worth of groceries due to our membership in Feeding America and our partnerships with retailers. Gifts can be designated for a specific program such as Buddy Packs or VIP Veteran Packs, or can go towards our annual fall fundraising campaign, Score Against Hunger.
As you are assessing your year-end giving opportunities keep tax credit options in mind. The Food Bank offers two different tax credit options you may be eligible for: Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) or Food Pantry Tax Credits. Donors are eligible for up to a 50% tax credit if they meet the criteria for either program. NAP requirements include:
a minimum $1,000 donation, corporate taxpayers, individuals taxpayers who own an interest in Sub-chapter A Corporation, limited liability company or partnership or individual taxpayers who operate a sole proprietorship business, farm or rental property.
Food Pantry Credit requirements include:
any taxpayer with a Missouri tax liability, maximum contribution cannot exceed $5,000 per taxpayer and can’t be designated to The Food Bank’s Buddy Pack program.
