 BUSINESS COMMUNITY
Join the Chamber for the 2nd annual Pierce County Outlook luncheon, where Pierce County leaders discuss the outlook for Pierce County in key areas including: public safety and economic & workforce development.
 
These insights into the Pierce County socioeconomic climate make this an invaluable event for local organizations looking to shape their vision for the coming years.
 
Program includes an address by County Executive  Bruce Dammeier, as well as a panel including Pierce County Sheriff Paul Pastor , JBLM Garrison Commander Colonel Nicole Lucas , and Port of Tacoma Commissioner Don Meyer .

Grow your creative business with Spaceworks Incubator. This training and coaching program for Tacoma entrepreneurs provides relevant and meaningful small business training, technical assistance, workshops, and peer-to-peer support.

To date, Spaceworks has supported over 149 entrepreneurs and creative enterprises. Join Info Session April 2nd to learn more.


MAYOR WOODARDS TO DELIVER STATE OF THE CITY ADDRESS
Chamber President &CEO Tom Pierson will serve as master of ceremonies as Mayor Woodards speaks on the theme “Our Tacoma: Our City, Our Success” while reflecting on her first 100 days in office.
FUTURE UNCLEAR FOR OLD CITY HALL
After receiving two proposals to revitalize Old City Hall , including the idea to use the building as headquarters for a space elevator, the City of Tacoma will put out another request for proposals sometime in late spring.

TACOMA YEA! SAUNDERS SCHOLAR SELECTED
Last week, the Chamber’s Young Entrepreneurs Academy held its annual Investor Panel and Graduation for participating middle and high school students.

Colby Kurle, owner of Athletic Market, was selected as Tacoma’s Saunders Scholar to compete in semifinals. In May Colby, a student at Graham-Kapowsin High School, will travel to Rochester, NY to compete for a college scholarship and to be named America’s Next Top Young Entrepreneur.
CONNECT WITH A TALENTED WORKFORCE
Camo2Commerce offers several different employment and training programs for transitioning service members and active duty spouses including the WorkEx program. 

Veteran friendly companies can apply to host service members and spouses for an 8 week program. A successful WorkEx experience could lead to further support of a compensated on-the-job training for the service member or spouse.
