CONGRATULATIONS TO TACOMA'S LAURIE JINKINS!

Democrats in the Washington state House made history this week by selecting Rep. Laurie Jinkins of Tacoma as their next speaker. Jinkins will be the first woman Speaker of the House in Washington history, taking over for Frank Chopp who was the longest-serving Washington Speaker. Jinkins was first elected in 2010 and is Chair of the House Judiciary Committee.

WorkSource has announced that the Pierce County Library System’s 18 locations have been awarded certification as WorkSource Connection Satellite sites, giving jobseekers access to online workforce development services, free Microsoft technology certifications, WorkSource workshops and programs, and more.
