Welcome to DairyTrace TagTips - quick tips, helpful hints and FAQs to help you understand the most efficient ways to use your traceability tools.

Why Make Your Premise ID Available to Other DairyTrace Users?

In this TagTips, we cover why it’s recommended that you authorize the inclusion of your Premises ID (PID) in the PID search tool for DairyTrace users, and how to do that.

Did you Know

Over 3,400 PIDs are currently searchable (public) when reporting through DairyTrace.

Why make your PID searchable in DairyTrace?

  • Easier for other DairyTrace users to access PID details for accurate movement reporting.
  • Accurate movement reporting is key to knowing where the animal has been, other animals it has been in contact with, and where it is currently located.
  • The more DairyTrace users who authorize their PID to be searchable, the faster and more efficient movement reporting will be for all users.
  • Allowing your PID to be searchable in DairyTrace makes it available only to other DairyTrace users.
Tip of the week

You can change your consent at any time to allow the inclusion of your PID in the search tool.

Changing your authorization:

When you first activated your account, you would have selected either “I authorize” or “I do not authorize”. If you originally chose “I do not authorize” and would like to update your selection, you have two options:

1.     Contact Customer Services and they will make the change in your account.

2.     Through your account on the DairyTrace portal. Here’s how:

  • Once logged in, under the Account tab, go to Consents Management
  • From there you can review your authorizations and change your consent to “I authorize”.
  • Click Save.

Please see the April TagTips for instructions on how to find a PID by using the public premises search in the DairyTrace portal:
