Madden Creek Water System Reconstruction Project

Phase 3 of the Madden Creek Water System Reconstruction Project begins April 20 with tree removal and will continue through Fall 2025. The project continues our work on this aging system to ensure the delivery of secure, reliable drinking water, improve fire flow capacity, and increase hydrant coverage.

This $6.5 Million phase includes installing over 5,700 feet of new water main and 10 fire hydrants along Highway 89 in Homewood. Work will occur primarily on the highway shoulder, but some lane closures may be possible.

Thank you to Placer County Water Agency for project funding support.

Tahoe City Golf Course Irrigation Replacement Project

TCPUD is investing $2.1 million to replace the golf course’s aging irrigation system, which has been in place since 1976. This upgrade will improve water efficiency, turf coverage, and the overall golf experience.

We’re committed to minimizing disruptions, but construction will require temporary hole closures throughout the season. Stay tuned for updates!

West Shore Trail Reconstruction Project

TCPUD is investing $4.8 million to reconstruct 2.4 miles of trail between Sunnyside and Blackwood Creek in 2025. Originally built in the 1970s, the West Shore Trail has benefited from TCPUD’s regular maintenance, but after nearly 50 years, a full reconstruction is necessary.

The project will begin in early May and last through Fall. Reconstruction will address pavement failure, slope and alignment issues, visibility (both vehicular and pedestrian, safety, ADA compliance, and drainage.

We are grateful for our funding support through the TOT-TBID Dollars of Work program and the Tahoe Fund.
