More Customers Now Eligible for Rate Assistance

Water Rate Assistance Program. Eligible low-income customers can save 25-50% off your water bill.

The TCPUD Board of Directors voted to expand the Water Rate Assistance Program, now offering a new second tier of rate assistance to help more customers save on their water bill.

Under the new tier, eligible customers can receive 25% off the monthly residential water base rate, which equals $26.64 per month in savings for 2025.

In addition, the program continues to offer a 50% rate reduction for customers enrolled in the Liberty Utilities CARE program.

Rate Assistance is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t wait!

Learn some TCPUD Funding Facts!

Did you know? TCPUD manages both water and sewer services and parks and recreation—but the funding for these services is completely separate! 💧🌳

Water and sewer rates can only fund water and sewer operations. Utility rate revenue cannot be used to pay for parks and recreation services. Instead, our parks and recreation programs rely on grants, program fees, and property taxes—not your water and sewer bill.

At TCPUD, we’re committed to being good financial stewards for our community.

Safer and Smoother Trails Coming Soon to the West Shore!

An aerial photo of construction crews repaving the North Shore Trail in Tahoe City.

We are grateful to North Tahoe Community Alliance and Placer County for their recent approval of $2.8 Million through TOT-TBID to help fund the West Shore Trail Reconstruction project.

This important project will reconstruct approximately 2.4 miles of aged and failing trail sections of the West Shore Trail between Sunnyside and Idlewild Way in 2025. TCPUD has maintained this trail since it was first constructed in the 1970s, but it is now time for a complete reconstruction.

Reconstruction will address pavement failure, slope and alignment issues, visibility (both vehicular and pedestrian), safety and ADA code compliance, and drainage.
