Water System Upgrades Strengthen Fire Protection in Tahoe

In 2025, TCPUD completed several key projects that strengthen our community’s fire suppression capacity, including:

  • Madden Creek Water System Upgrades: Replacement of over 5,000 feet of aging water mains and installation of 10 new fire hydrants in areas that previously lacked fire flow.

Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for videos highlighting how TCPUD and our partners are helping residents harden homes, create defensible space, and prepare our community for wildfire.

Track Your Usage and Detect Leaks with EyeOnWater

Most TCPUD customers now have a smart water meter installed at their home.

These meters securely transmit water usage data several times a day, helping our team monitor the system and quickly detect potential leaks.

Customers can access that same information through the EyeOnWater customer app.

With EyeOnWater, you can:

  • View your daily and hourly water use
  • Receive leak alerts by text or email
  • Spot unusual consumption early, before it becomes costly
  • Better understand and manage your household water use

Signing up takes just a few minutes at eyeonwater.com. Use your full TCPUD account number (no dashes, include all zeros) and your billing ZIP code to get started.

If you have questions or need help setting up your account, our team is here to help. Call us at (530) 580-6278.
