🚧 North Shore Trail Rehabilitation Project Updates 🚧

We are making great progress on the North Shore Trail Rehabilitation Project to make the trail smoother and safer for all.

The trail will remain closed from Star Harbor to lower Lake Forest Road through mid-October.

The remainder of the trail is open for use, but we ask that trail users continue to use caution on the trail and respect cones, fencing, and signage as there are still a few finishing touches on the trail. Construction will be complete by the end of October.

Learn more about the project online here.

The total investment in this Project is over $3 million and we thank Placer County and North Tahoe Community Alliance (NTCA) for a $1.6 million funding contribution to this project as part of the TOT-TBID program.

TCPUD Celebrates Queenie Dunn Practice Facility Ribbon Cutting!

We are thrilled to announce the completion of the new Queenie Dunn Practice Facility at Tahoe City Golf Course. This short-game practice area features a new putting green, sand bunker, and turf areas.

May “Queenie” Dunn was one of the first female Golf Course Designers and Golf Professionals. In 1918, Queenie designed and supervised the layout of the Tahoe Tavern Golf Course, now the Tahoe City Golf Course. She acted as the resident Golf Pro/Manager.

Thanks to the generous support of the Northern California Golf Association, Tahoe City Recreation Association, Patty Sheehan Foundation, the Scoville Family, Tim Longo, and Matt Daniels.

Golf season ends October 27, so come celebrate this exciting addition to Tahoe City Golf Course!

Lake Tahoe Restoration Act Passes House

On September 24, Congress passed legislation to extend the Lake Tahoe Restoration Act for ten more years, making millions of dollars available to protect and preserve the lake. President Biden signed the bill into law on October 2nd.

We appreciate our Team Tahoe representatives for their work moving this bill through Congress: Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, Senator Jacky Rosen, Senator Alex Padilla, Senator Laphonza Butler, Congressman Kevin Kiley, Congressman Mark Amodei, Congressman John Garamendi, Congresswoman Dina Titus, Congresswoman Susie Lee, Congressman Steven Horsford, and Congressman John Duarte.

The act provides a pathway for vital funding to support the Tahoe Water for Fire Suppression Partnership, of which TCPUD is a leading member, to help enhance our water system's capacity to fight fire.
