TCPUD Celebrates Water Treatment Plant Grand Opening

TCPUD was recently joined by 80+ local and state partners to celebrate the grand opening of the West Lake Tahoe Regional Water Treatment Plant!

Grand opening guests toured the plant’s advanced membrane filtration and UV disinfection systems, saw how Tahoe water travels from the lake through multiple stages of treatment, and participated in a celebratory “first sip” of water from the new water treatment plant.

Currently delivering up to 1 million gallons of water per day to customers in the McKinney/Quail water system, the plant is designed to expand service to 2,400 west shore customers from Tahoma to Timberland.
