Tails and Trails Information
Good afternoon! We would like to say THANK YOU so much for registering for the Tails and Trails 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk! Response to this event has been greater than expected and we are truly grateful to have each and every one of you participating! DASF is small organization, run mostly by volunteers and one part time office manager, and we sincerely appreciate all of your support. Thank you for your patience! We’ve been waiting for a few last minute details to fall into place, but with race day this Saturday, we wanted to share a few bits of race information with you.
Early Packet Pick-up will be held at Game Changers Sports and Arcade Grill off the Denton square, tomorrow, Thursday 3/28 from 5-8pm. Game Changers is located on the south side of the square, next to Mulberry Street Cantina and across the street from Hannah’s. Their address is 122 West Mulberry St, Denton, Texas

Game Changers will be donating a portion of the days sales to DASF, so come out and eat and drink and support a local charity!

We will also be doing race-day packet pick-up starting at 7:30am at North Lakes Park , located on the side near the practice softball fields.

Following the 5k we will have snacks, tacos provided by Torchy’s Tacos and ½ price adoptions at the animal shelter!
Parking
There will be a few different events happening at the park on Saturday, so please be patient when it comes to parking. There are several lots near the start line and a new one by the animal shelter that the city has assured us will no longer be under construction by Saturday. No matter where you end up parking, please be prepared to walk back to your car after the race. There is a sidewalk that runs from the shelter back to North Lakes park (the 1 mile course). There will be volunteers to help make sure you know where to park.
There is a possibility that the parking lot by the shelter will still be closed off to the public. But just in case it is not, here is where it is located. We will have volunteers to direct you where to park. Please make sure you follow our Facebook event page to find out if this lot will be open day of.
Pets
This is a pet friendly event! Just a few reminders:
  • ALL dogs must be on a leash
  • Proof of current Rabies vaccination must be available when asked
  • No dogs with aggressive behavior are allowed to participate
  • No dogs in heat are allowed to participate
Other Information
  • Strollers - if you choose to run with a stroller please remember part of the course is on a trail, we recommend using a jogging stroller and not a regular stroller. Even with a jogging stroller, the trail may still be bumpy.
  • We ask that anyone running with a stroller, pet or if you are walking the 5k course please be respectful of those running the course for time. We ask that anyone walking please stay to the right and let runner pass on their left.
  • There will be one water station on the 5k course and one once you cross the finish line.
  • First aid stations will be located at each water station.
  • Restroom: There are restrooms at North Lakes park near the start line and there are restrooms at the shelter. The shelter will not open their doors until 10:00.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask!
