AAI staff members have been visiting the Iowa retail offices of the Growmark System this month. Coordinated by Liz Hobart, Government Relations Manager for Growmark, four meetings were held at retail headquarter locations: Three Rivers FS, Dyersville; New Century FS, Grinnell; Agriland FS, Winterset, and AgVantage FS, Waverly. Discussions were held with local General Managers Chris Salrin, Dwayne "Jake" Jacobs, John Knobloch, and Shelly Kruse, respectively, and their key personnel.

The GMs presented information regarding each of their core businesses, with particular emphasis on the changing agronomy business. AAI provided an overview of our current business model, as well as that of INREC, the Ag Legal Defense Fund, and the AAI Foundation. Common legislative and regulatory concerns were shared along with some strategic ideas for actions going forward.  Each meeting was closed out with detailed discussions of the INREC progress measurement pilot project and the recently launched Agribusiness Environmental Partnership.

Growmark personnel attending each meeting in addition to Liz, included Randy Seligman, and Tim Berkland. AAI personnel included Joel Brinkmeyer, Reilly Vaughan, Shawn Richmond, Chad Ingels, and Roger Webster.
