Recognize those who are shaping the future of Iowa agriculture with a nomination for the Iowa Agribusiness Impact Award. Nominations are now being accepted through Sept. 1.
This recognition program from AAI honors individuals, businesses, or initiatives making a lasting impact on Iowa’s ag economy, rural communities, or the broader food and ag system. The Impact Award celebrates innovation, leadership, and a deep commitment to advancing Iowa agriculture. From agribusiness professionals and local leaders to game-changing businesses, we want to spotlight those who are moving our industry forward.
Award recipients will be recognized at the Agribusiness Showcase & Conference, Feb. 9–10, 2027, at the Meadows Conference Center in Altoona.

| | Nurse Tank Testing Workshop Provides Training, Updates for Agribusiness Staff | |
On Tuesday, staff from AAI ag retail members that test their own tanks joined us for the AAI Nurse Tank Testing Workshop in Nevada. The attendees reviewed U.S. DOT code related to nurse tanks, discussed rules enforcement and changes, and asked questions about real-world situations they encounter directly from an U.S. DOT investigator.
Thank you to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration for partnering to provide this training and to CNH Industrial Ag Information Center for the training room space.
The next AAI educational event will be the Summer Grain Grading Workshops on Aug. 11 & 12.
| | Streamside Buffer Pilot Project to Include Greater Des Moines Watershed | |
The Streamside Buffer Pilot Project has expanded and now includes farmers and landowners living in all 22 counties in the Greater Des Moines Watershed. The expansion is part of the Farm to Faucet water quality package signed into law on June 1.
The Streamside Buffer Pilot Project was launched in August 2025 to help farmers and landowners establish perennial buffers along streams, rivers, creeks, and drainage ditches to reduce nutrient runoff and soil erosion and improve water quality. The pilot initially focused on the North Raccoon, Boone, Middle Cedar and Turkey River watersheds and all of Dubuque County. The additional 22 counties are north and west of Des Moines.
