This newsletter reviews SWWAP's recent forum and shares a link to the film and forum for those who may have missed it. 

SWWAP also shares an invite from Mount Horeb's PFLAG concert inviting all to take a stand for our inclusive school district. The action will be a nonviolent statement in support of the Mount Horeb School District and inclusion. 

Finally, the fight continues to protect individual freedoms that are being threatened. SWWAP abhors the draft United States Supreme Court majority opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade, rolling back fifty years of women's reproductive, health, and privacy rights, and we share a video from Planned Parenthood on the issue.

Take A Stand For Mount Horeb Public Schools
Thursday, May 7
PFLAG invites SWWAP members to join a peaceful gathering to support the Mt. Horeb Area School District, the teachers, and the kids in their journey to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion in our schools.

There will be a different meeting sponsored by members of Wisconsin United for Freedom inside the Martinson Hall, 108 S. Second Street, May 7, starting at 6:00 pm. The guest speakers are Dr. Duke Pesta and David King. Dr. Pesta is part of Freedom Project Media and speaks on homeschooling, the decline of the public schools, and the myriad ways that educational systems indoctrinate students. David King is running for Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor.

You are free to go inside and listen or you can join us outside for a peaceful gathering of support. We really want to emphasize our goal: a peaceful gathering of support for kids, teachers, and the school district. Please bring signs/flags/banners of support. Rainbow apparel is welcome. 
Los Lecheros Forum Rewind

This film discussion of Los Lecheros was presented May 3, 2022, and produced by Wisconsin Farmers Union, Southwest Wisconsin Area Progressives, and the Gene and Linda Farley Center for Peace, Justice and Sustainability. Forum presenters included John Rosenow, a Buffalo County dairy farmer who is prominently featured in Los Lecheros; Nick Levendofsky, Government Relations Director for the Wisconsin Farmers Union; and Ruth Conniff, Editor of the Wisconsin Examiner & author of Milked. The event was moderated by Dee Hall, Wisconsin Watch. The panel discussed policies and new developments around work visas, as well as the powerful personal relationships farmers in Wisconsin are building with families in Mexico.
