Flaring Day of Action Social: Climate
February 10th, 2022

As the EPA works to finalize its proposal to to cut methane and other harmful pollutants from new and existing oil and gas operations, please join us in calling for a ban on routine flaring, which is wasteful and harmful to our health and our planet.

Today's social is themed around climate change. Please use the guidance below to participate in this day of action.

  • Instead of capturing gas during extraction, many oil & gas companies burn it as waste, & emit toxic pollution and climate-warming methane. That's why @EPA must strengthen its proposal to #CutMethane by banning routine flaring. More on flaring in @CNBC → https://cnb.cx/3J2oB1b

  • Methane is a potent greenhouse gas w/ 86X the warming power of CO2 in the near term. That's why @EPA must follow the lead of states like CO & NM, & ban routine flaring to #CutMethane. Flaring is wasteful & harmful to our planet. Learn more in @CNBC → https://cnb.cx/3J2oB1b

  • To fully #ActOnClimate and protect communities, @EPA #CutMethane rules must ban routine flaring, a dangerous & wasteful practice in the oil & gas industry. Learn more in @climate→ https://bloom.bg/34fEGBH

  • Rules to #CutMethane from the oil & gas industry are our fastest, most cost-effective tool to tackle the #ClimateCrisis. That's why @EPA must ban routine flaring, a wasteful & dangerous practice NOW. Learn about flaring in @climate→ https://bloom.bg/34fEGBH

  • States like Colorado & New Mexico have set the bar for @EPA by banning routine flaring, a dangerous & wasteful practice in the oil & gas industry. We must #CutMethane to tackle the #ClimateCrisis & that means ending routine flaring. Learn more → https://bit.ly/3uhzjwB
