Homelessness and Racial Disparities

Black families experience homelessness at higher rates than white families. This disparity is rooted in a long history of systemic inequities—redlining, discriminatory lending practices, and unequal access to resources. We recognize that housing is a fundamental right, not a privilege. Achieving true social justice means addressing these disparities and working toward equitable access to safe, stable housing for all.

Community Call to Action

We believe that no one is well-served when people are living in unsafe conditions. When all our neighbors are housed and have access to essential resources and services, the entire community benefits. We are committed to supporting safe, accessible, and reasonably priced housing for all.

Please join us in advocating for effective solutions to homelessness and housing insecurity.

Housing Success

Our first move of 2025 is complete! In January, we were happy to help a woman and her beloved pup take their first steps into a new chapter.

Here’s what she shared: “It felt like home when I walked in… I am the most grateful girl in the galaxy.”

This move is about offering a safe place where healing and new possibilities can begin. We’re grateful to be part of that journey!

Community Partner Spotlights

We are proud to spotlight Ion Bank for their incredible dedication to our community and mission. Their commitment was on full display last year when volunteers from Ion Bank helped make our Holiday Giving program a success, bringing joy and relief to families in need. We are also honored to be recipients of the Ion Bank Foundation, whose generosity helps us continue our work.

This year, their support went even further with a donation drive that provided essential household items and hygiene products to our families and guests, ensuring they have the resources they need.

Thank you, Ion Bank, for your generosity and partnership. We are truly grateful for your support in building a stronger community!

Reliable transportation is a critical need for many of the guests we serve, and we’re thankful for partners like Avenues in Motion who are helping bridge that gap. Denis and Emily recently visited Our Promise to distribute transportation safety gear, provide bike and pedestrian safety training, and share valuable mobility resources. We’re so grateful for this partnership and excited for the road ahead!
