Take Five: Resources & Best Practices from Today
Back-to-back virtual meeting days are hard but the dialogue continues to cement the importance of what our chamber leaders are doing making a positive impact. Never doubt that you are making a difference. Here are the top Take Five tips from today for your team:

  • ACTION ITEMS: Two quick requests from our local chambers in Indiana and both have deadlines of this Friday. 1.)  ICEA is partnering with the Indiana Economic Development Association, and the Indiana Tourism Association to alert the Indiana Congressional delegation that we still need funding for 501(c)6 orgs so please sign on to support this initiative. 2.) ICEA is conducting a quick 15 question survey along with other state executive associations across the U.S. to measure the impact that the COVID global pandemic has had on our industry. Please have one person from your Chamber's staff complete the survey.

  • Devoted2DecaturCounty: Here's a great roll-out from the Greensburg-Decatur County Chamber. Starting this week, the public will be able to shop at many favorite Decatur County stores online by purchasing a gift card to their store. Gift cards are worth $30, but can be purchased for only $20 thanks to the generous donors who have contributed for the extra $10 for every gift card purchased. More info can be found here.

  • One Chamber & 3 Great Ideas: Check out these great resources flowing from the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce this week . . . . 1.) the release this week on their COVID-19 Impact Report; 2.) the coordination of a call today with the chamber, City, LEDO, Mainstreet and Tourism to provide updates, identify challenges and brainstorm ideas with business leaders targeting reopening/recovery; and 3.) hosting a virtual cash mob on May 4.

  • Speaking of Cash Mobs: It's all about the money and the cash flow that chambers can spread out to local businesses hurting from the COVID Crisis. YGM Total Resource Campaign will offer a Facebook Live on April 30th at 3:30 p.m. on How To Stage A Cash Mob.
Continue to position your Chamber as a resource and leader for the business community that you serve. Some days are long. Some days are harder than others. Thank you for your commitment to your community and this profession.

Please call or e-mail the ICEA office as you have questions this week.
