Take Five: Resources & Best Practices from Today
Happy Hump Day Chamber friends! Like a mid-week celebration matters when many of you are working extended hours into the weekends to help your businesses maneuver through these challenging days. Thank you so much for your leadership. Take five for some important notes of the day:

  • Critical Communication Release to Chambers from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC): IEDC contacted me today to request that local chambers send an updated list of critical contact numbers out to your business & community networks. It seems many chambers are directing all business inquiries to the Critical Industries Hotline and the calls are overwhelming their system. Please share this message from IEDC with your membership.

  • Office of Community & Rural Affairs (OCRA) Webinar Recording: In case you missed the OCRA webinar this morning, here's the link to the the recording and the link to the handouts. The COVID-19 Response Program was created to address the immediate impacts of COVID-19 on Indiana's rural communitiies. Funds are derived from the State's annual Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) allocation and guidance was provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on how funds were to be used.

  • Navigating Health, Wellness & Leave Benefits: here's a link to a great article from the SHRM website for what your business owners should tell employees who may have COVID-19.

  • Speaker Requests: If you are interested in having a U.S. Chamber staff member join calls and webinars with your Chamber members to walk through the content of the Cares Act and answer questions about other legislation, e-mail speakers@uschamber.com to schedule a time.

  • Chamber Staff Changes: as we wrap up the first quarter of 2020, ICEA would like to get a quick check on the pulse of any staff changes happening throughout our chamber network if you could participate in the simple one question quick poll below:
Did your chamber have to eliminate any staff positions during Q1 of 2020?

We have made it through the month of March, a month like none we have ever seen before. Try to stay safe, sane and here's hoping that we all see signs of improvement in this second quarter of 2020.

Thank you for your leadership -
