Take Five: Resources & Best Practices from Today
Chamber friends - I hope you got to take a small yet much-deserved break this past weekend to enjoy some time enjoying the spring weather. Your work on behalf of your businesses & communities is AWESOME. We're in this together & we're here for you! #INthistogether #I CEA

Here are 5 take-aways from the day for Chamber leaders:

  • Resources & Content: Golden Shovel, a national economic development partner, offers content for social media and newsletters on their website and several April upcoming webinars. Check out these resources when you can.

  • Chambers Are . . . . : If Chambers don't tell their stories, no one else will. Amy Cloud, Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executives Director, created this image to help Kentucky's local chambers tell their story and she has offered for peers across the nation to use it. Take a look!

  • CARES Act and Affect on UI Benefits: DWD is hosting a Facebook Live Event on Wednesday, April 8th at 10:30 a.m. EST with agency leaders to discuss the latest available details on the federal stimulus package (CARES Act) and how it affects UI benefits. Click here for details.
  • EIDL and Chambers: Several of our ICEA members indicated a yes on the quick poll that their organization will be applying for the EIDL. ACCE recently reported that their staff members are hearing reports of the Small Business Administration telling chambers of commerce that they are not eligible for the EIDL program because chambers are considered “marketing cooperatives.” ACCE staff members believe this designation is a mistake and they are working to seek clarity from SBA.

  • Aspire Johnson County Decision-Making Matrix: Aspire President & CEO Christian Maslowski created this decision matrix for their staff to help their team figure out what they need to do, what they need to share, and what they need to collaborate to deliver. Many peers are dealing with these same decisions so Christian has offered to share with you as a tool. Thanks Christian!
As your Chamber has resources that could be duplicated or accessed by peers, please e-mail to me at shelli@iceaonline.com to get these out to other chambers.

These next few weeks are going to be tough for us all. Keep doing great work for your members and, above all, please stay safe.
