It's a big deal!

Burkes Outlet is coming to New Martinsville and that is a big deal because Burkes specializes in offering big deals with prices that are up to 70% off department store prices!

The Wetzel-Tyler Chamber of Commerce will be holding a ribbon-cutting to announce the official launch of Burkes' newest store in the Riverfront Village Plaza near Speedway in New Martinsville. The ribbon-cutting will be held on Thursday, May 27th at 8:30 AM, right before the official Grand Opening of the new location at 9 AM.

Burkes has an array of special things planned for the Grand Opening in addition to their already great prices. They will be signing people up for their MORE rewards program, offering give-aways, and a prize wheel.

Come early and join us for the ribbon-cutting and stay to check out the huge selection of apparel for the whole family, home decor items, bed & bath, handbags, and much more.
Business After Hours Return!

It has been a long, long time, but business after hours and other events are ready to return to the Chamber! Our last one of these networking events was at Bayer Heritage FCU in February of last year. This Tuesday, May 25th, they return, as Swiss Valley Associates and our local Air Evac Lifeteam join forces to bring in an evening of summer fun to the area.

All members of the Wetzel-Tyler Chamber of Commerce are invited to attend this cookout at the Air Evac Hangar beside WVU Wetzel County Hospital. There will be traditional cookout food, games like cornhole, and drawing for prizes include the Chamber "Big Bucks" drawing! This business after hours event will start at 5:30 PM and run for a couple of hours, providing plenty of opportunities for networking, and enjoying a chance to be out and around people again.

If you are a member of the Chamber or affiliated with one of our members, then we hope you will come out and enjoy a relaxing evening with us.
Swiss Valley Associates brings us this week's Local Trivia Challenge! Since they are known for their great engineering and construction projects, they decided to ask about an important building project from our local history.

This week's question: What year was the Lincoln Theater in downtown New Martinsville completed and open?

You can answer the Local trivia questions by sending us an email to Office@WetzelChountyChamber.com or a direct message on Facebook. One person who answers correctly this week will win a $25 Chamber Community Cash certificate. Chamber Community Cash can be used at over 30 different stores and restaurants around the Wetzel and Tyler Counties.
Last week, our local Air Evac Lifeteam asked you to tell us what the base number of their base at WVU Wetzel County Hospital was called. We got a lot of answers about this one. The answer was - Base 78!
