Last week I had the privilege of attending the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce 85th Annual Meeting and Business Summit.
The conference was very well attended and presented a wide range of speakers and topics. I sought to attend the sessions that I believe were relevant to our mission and goals. Following are links to WV Chamber position papers as well as links to organizations that support the growth and prosperity of our counties and state.

Redistricting

What is Redistricting?
The redrawing of West Virginia's Congressional and Legislative boundary lines. This must be accomplished using U.S. Census data every 10 years to indicate changes in population.

Why is Redistricting Important?
Redistricting will determine political representation for the next ten years. During this process, the lines and boundaries of governing bodies are redrawn so that each district is roughly equal in population size based on the most recent census data.

A virtual public hearing for Congressional District 1 for Wetzel and Tyler Counties, will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021, from 6:00-8:00 pm. www.wvlegislature.gov/redistricting.cfm
