As we approach the end of the year, I want to share with you some of the issues that impact our state and communities. Each of the links below will allow you to deep-dive into what is being done on all of our behalfs at the state and national level. The links to our state representatives will allow you to contact their offices directly and express your opinions or to ask a question. They are very good at responding in a timely manner.
This week on a WV Chamber Zoom call, there was a discussion regarding area chamber executives traveling as a group, to Charleston. We all agreed in the benefit of a small group banning together to bring issues that are unique to our areas. If there are specific issues that you would like to have discussed during this proposed trip to Charleston, or to address during one of the many WV Chamber group calls that I participate in, please email your concern and I’ll be sure to convey it to the WV Chamber leadership. I will keep everyone informed when and if we are able to schedule a group meeting. director@wetzeltylerchamber.org
A recent issue that was highlighted during this week’s Zoom meeting was the need for quality childcare that would allow a number of families to return to work; particularly allowing women to return to the workforce. The group agreed that childcare is a worthy issue that all WV chambers should support. No final decision was made at that time for the WV Chamber to take a definitive position on childcare. I’ll update everyone when and if that decision to support is made.
We all hear the buzz about all of the federal funds that are available to states. Each and every one of us has a voice in how those funds are spent. Let your voice be heard!
