Dear Take Stock in Children Palm Beach County Family,

Welcome to the November edition of the Take Stock Tribune! As we dive into the season of giving, we’re reflecting on an October filled with impactful events and community spirit. Our team kicked off the month with our Drive Shack Mentor/Mentee event, where students and mentors enjoyed a day of golf and laughter while strengthening connections that will continue to guide our students toward success.

Our other memorable event was the 4th Annual Stock the Cellars Wine Auction hosted on the beautiful Intracoastal. The elegant evening was a tremendous success that featured live music, great food, and a sommelier led wine auction. Thanks to everyone who attended and supported our cause! We also celebrated Halloween with an office potluck with our staff, festive treats and fun costumes, celebrating the unity and dedication that keeps our mission strong.

Thank you for being an essential part of the Take Stock Palm Beach family. Stay tuned for more updates by following our emails, newsletter and social media pages. Wishing you all a great month.

Warmly,

The Take Stock Palm Beach Team

PROGRAM NEWS

Hospitality Student Career Tours

On November 5th, we proudly facilitated an exciting and educational Hospitality Career Tour for 40 of our students at two of West Palm Beach’s most iconic venues: Hilton West Palm Beach and The Kravis Center for the Performing Arts. This hands-on, immersive experience gave students a unique opportunity to explore potential career paths in the hospitality and arts industries, while also gaining valuable insights from top executives in the field.

The event began with a tour of the Hilton West Palm Beach where students were welcomed by the hotel's executive leadership team, who shared their career journeys and offered candid advice on building a successful career in hospitality. Attendees had the chance to ask questions about everything from hotel management to event planning, learning about the diverse roles that make up the hospitality industry.

One of the highlights of the day was the exclusive “behind-the-scenes” tour of both the front and back of the house. Students explored areas not often seen by the public, such as the hotel’s kitchen, event spaces, and administrative offices. They learned how each department works together to ensure the smooth running of the hotel and its guest services. For many students, this was their first exposure to the vast array of career opportunities within the hospitality field, from event coordination and marketing to food and beverage management.

The second part of the day took place at The Kravis Center, one of Florida’s premier venues for the performing arts. Students had the opportunity to meet with executives from the Kravis Center's leadership team and discuss career options in the arts and entertainment industry. Whether it's in production, operations, or marketing, The Kravis Center staff shared valuable insights into how various roles contribute to bringing world-class performances to the community. Students also enjoyed a tour of the impressive facility, learning about the logistics behind hosting large-scale performances and events.

Throughout the day, students were inspired by the dedication, passion, and creativity exhibited by the professionals they met. For many, this tour was a first step toward considering a career in the hospitality or arts sectors, opening their eyes to possibilities they had never before imagined.

Take Stock in Children Palm Beach County is committed to helping students achieve success in school and beyond, and this Hospitality Career Tour was a perfect example of how these experiences can shape future career pathways. By connecting students with industry leaders and offering real-world experiences, our program continues to provide invaluable opportunities that help set students on the path to success.

A big thank you to Hilton West Palm Beach and The Kravis Center for their generosity in hosting the event and supporting our students. We look forward to future career tours and continued partnerships that inspire and empower the next generation of leaders.

MENTOR NEWS

Mentor/Mentee Drive Shack Event

On October 14th, we hosted an exciting and impactful Mentor/Mentee event at Drive Shack in West Palm Beach. Over 180 students and mentors gathered for a fun-filled morning of golf games, skill-building, and meaningful conversations.

The event provided a unique opportunity for students to connect with their mentors outside the classroom, fostering stronger relationships and valuable life lessons in a relaxed and enjoyable setting. After a few rounds of friendly competition, the group came together to share a delicious lunch, where conversations flowed and bonds were strengthened.

Our program's commitment to providing mentorship and support for students is a vital part of the organization's mission to help young people achieve their dreams. This event exemplified the positive impact that such mentorships can have, offering students not only guidance in their academic and career pursuits but also a sense of community and connection.

We thank all the mentors and students who participated, and we look forward to more engaging events in the future!
