PROGRAM NEWS

Back to School Workshops

This August, Take Stock Palm Beach hosted four back to school workshops designed to set our students, mentors, and families up for a strong academic year. A total of 377 students attended the sessions across Palm Beach State College campuses and Florida Atlantic University.

Each workshop provided valuable information to help students navigate the year ahead and featured inspiring guest speakers, including professors from Palm Beach State College. Parents and mentors also took part, ensuring that our students are supported both inside and outside of the classroom. We also made sure our students were set for success with dinner, school supplies, and brand-new backpacks at every session.

These workshops are an important way to connect our community and make sure our students have the tools, resources, and encouragement they need to succeed.

MENTOR NEWS

We kicked off the school year with successful workshops across Palm Beach County—thank you to every mentor who was able to attend! With the new year in full swing, now’s the time to reconnect with your mentees and schedule regular mentor sessions.

The Future Makers Speaker Series is back, offering students fresh inspiration and insight to complement their one-on-one mentoring. These sessions are held every other week, and while mentor attendance isn’t required, you’re always invited and welcomed to join! Details are sent via text each week a session is scheduled.

Exciting news: the new Take Stock in Children App officially launched on September 2! Directions for downloading and using the app have been sent via text and email. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you for all you do to uplift, guide, and empower our students!
