At Take Stock Palm Beach, we are proud to stand beside them every step of the way—with mentors, workshops, and resources designed to ensure their success.
This month, we’ve already celebrated back-to-school events, welcomed new students into the program, and prepared our scholars for the academic year ahead. | | | | 17th Annual Target Back to School Shopping | | |
Take Stock Palm Beach kicked off the new school year with our 17th Annual Target Back-to-School Shopping Events, held at two locations this year: the Boynton Beach Target on Friday, August 1st, and the Palm Beach Lakes Target on Monday, August 4th.
Thanks to the generous support of Florida Power & Light (FPL), we were able to provide 103 Take Stock students with a $200 gift card each to shop for back-to-school supplies alongside their mentors. From notebooks and backpacks to clothing and other essentials, our scholars were able to start the school year prepared and confident.
This event wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our incredible mentors and volunteers—103 in total—who joined their students to make the shopping experience both fun and meaningful. We were also thrilled to have WPTV on-site to capture the excitement and highlight the impact of this community tradition.
We are deeply grateful to FPL, our mentors, and all who made this year’s event a success. With the right tools in hand and the support of caring mentors, our students are ready to take on the new school year with confidence!

This year, we had the incredible opportunity to host five dedicated and passionate AmeriCorps members who played a vital role in shaping the lives of our students. Abigail, Alisson, Bridget, Stephanie, and Zahariah each brought their unique strengths, compassion, and unwavering commitment to our mission.
Throughout their year of service, they supported college and career readiness initiatives, and served as role models—often going above and beyond to ensure every student felt seen, heard, and supported. Whether it was guiding students through FAFSA applications, checking in on academic progress, or simply being a consistent presence in their lives, our AmeriCorps members made a lasting impact.
Their efforts helped us expand our reach, deepen student engagement, and strengthen the foundation of support we provide. As they conclude their term of service, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for their dedication and the difference they’ve made in our schools, our communities, and in the lives of so many young people.
Thank you, Abigail, Alisson, Bridget, Stephanie, and Zahariah—you are forever a part of the Take Stock Palm Beach family.

We are proud to shine a spotlight on one of our most dedicated partners, Florida Power & Light (FPL). This year, FPL generously donated $5,000 to support our annual Back-to-School Target Shopping Event, ensuring students started the school year prepared and confident.
FPL’s commitment to our mission extends far beyond financial support. They are steadfast sponsors of both our Bridge the Gap 5K and our Stock the Cellars Charity Wine Auction, helping us provide life-changing scholarships and mentoring for students across Palm Beach County.
In addition, FPL employees regularly volunteer their time at our events, and we are fortunate to have one of their team members serving on our Board of Directors. Their leadership and hands-on involvement embody the true spirit of community partnership.
Thank you, FPL, for your unwavering support and for standing alongside us in empowering the next generation of scholars!
