With their roots planted firmly in the desert Southwest, Felix y los Gatos refer to their sound as Zydetejano Blues—a unique blend of latin, blues, tejano, and rockin outlaw country. 5:30–8 p.m. | Create a model low rider
Using paper templates, cut, embellish, and assemble your own tricked-out ride. Fun for all ages.
7–8 p.m. | Poetry reading and book signing
An ekphrastic poem is a vivid description of a work of art. Bonnie Rucobo will read from her newly released Word Sculptures in the Albuquerque Museum Sculpture Garden (illustrations by Francesca Searer). By reflecting on the sculpture, Rucobo amplifies and expands its meaning. Experience the poetic life of Michael A Naranjo's  The Dancer, Nora Naranjo-Morse's Numbeh Whageh, Tom Joyce's Rio Grande Gates, Allan Houser's Prayer, Bob Haozous' Bear with Planes and Clouds, Beverley Magennis and Robert Stout's The Pathway, Bill Barrett's I Am Myself, John Suttman's Gate, and Dan Ostermiller's Les Bears.

After the reading, Rucobo will sign books. The book will be available for purchase through the Museum Store ($18)
