Just in time for Thanksgiving, The Frosted Apron will offer cake decorating workshops for children (Nov. 19-20) and adults (Nov. 24). The Hampstead Stage Company will present "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" and "A Christmas Carol" at the Iberia Parish Library (Nov. 19).

We'll end the month with the Isle of Iberia’s Let It Sneaux Holiday Festival and Bazaar (Nov. 24) and Sounds of the Season, a free Christmas concert by the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra (Nov. 25).

December:
Come December, Iberia Parish has a multitude of events planned to make this holiday season memorable.  It's a Wonderful Night on Main gala will take you back to the days when families had house parties with big band music, dancing and tasty food (Dec. 1).

Travel to the Victorian Era when you tour the Joseph Jefferson Home decorated for the holidays at Jefferson Island Rip Van Winkle Gardens . Shadows-on-the-Teche will be celebrating in a similar fashion with "merry making" tours . The home will be decorated all month long in 19th century holiday style and tours will focus on family celebrations of the time. You can find those last few Christmas presents at the Shadows Holiday Market (Dec. 8).

Downtown New Iberia’s storefront windows will display festive holiday themed decor in the style of New York City department store windows like Bergdorf Goodman or Bloomingdale's during Window Wonderland , and the Iberia Performing Arts League will perform the Christmas classic "It’s A Wonderful Life" (Dec. 6-16).

Get in the Christmas spirit at the library with interactive storytelling and Christmas carols for adults (Dec. 6), Princess Meet and Greet (Dec. 8) and Hugo Kringle (Dec. 14).

On Dec. 14-16, “Southern Sleigh Rides” starting at the Sliman Theater will travel through New Iberia's historic district in horse drawn carriages with food, drinks and fun for the whole family.

Santa Sightings:
With an abundance of Christmas parades happening around Iberia Parish, the kiddos will have ample opportunities to see the jolly man. Santa Claus makes his first sightings on Dec. 1 during the Blessing New Iberia Community Christmas and the Delcambre Seafood and Farmers Market at Bayou Carlin Cove.

The New Iberia Downtown Business Association will present the Magic on Main Christmas Parade on Dec. 8. Holiday goers can enjoy “Believe in the Berry” events throughout the day starting at 7 a.m., including a Christmas themed breakfast, the Teche Area Farmers Market, crafts, food trucks, musical performances, lighting of the community Christmas tree and the Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce's Very Berry Christmas Quest.

The jolly man will then follow the magical elf trail to the Delcambre Christmas Boat Parade (Dec. 8) before guest staring at the Delcambre Main Street Christmas Parade (Dec. 9).

With all these exciting events, the holidays are a wonderful time to visit the South’s merriest North Pole, Iberia Parish.. And don’t forget to enter your photos in our Savor the Season photo contest for a chance to win holiday prizes.
