Our Clubs serve as launchpads for youth, cultivating a spirit of exploration and providing a compass, a map, and the tools necessary for each young explorer to navigate their unique path.

Your donation is not just a financial contribution; it’s an investment in the exploration of dreams, talents, and potential. Thank you for being a vital part of our expedition.

Empowering Kids After School

Solar S'mores Experiment

Discovering the power of solar energy, our members engineered DIY solar ovens using household items.

Using a s'more as a delicious test, their solar oven harnessed the sun's heat, melting chocolate and marshmallows without a flame.

A big thank you to Round Table Pizza Encinitas for the boxes and Panda Cares for their invaluable support!

Soccer Showdown

Our Chris Ann's Clubhouse members at Griset competed in a 4 on 4 soccer tournament.

The 12 teams practiced during the week and competed in games on Fridays. The tourney culminated in a final game with winners receiving a medal for their achievement.

In additional to inspiring cheers from their peers the tournament sparked interest in sports, leading some kids to join recreational teams beyond the Boys & Girls Club.

Empowering SMART GIRLS

This month, our Smart Girls program in Encinitas focused on building confidence by discovering inner qualities.

Through identity icebergs and connecting with relatable songs, participants formed deep connections beyond appearances.

Recognizing their inherent value, they now make thoughtful choices in friendships and stand up for what is right.

Teens Doing Good Things Together!

Torch Club's Holiday Food Drive

Our Griset Torch Club took initiative by organizing a food drive to support those in need over Thanksgiving.

Ambassadors from the club spoke about the initiative to younger members, created flyers, and designed posters to reach parents and other visitors. It was a wonderful example of people coming together and taking positive action.

Building Healthy Friendships

Our Griset Smart Girls participants delved into topics such as building healthy friendships and establishing respectful boundaries.

Using role play, they explored the difference between healthy and non-healthy relationships. The teens even created skits to demonstrate right and wrong ways of setting boundaries, fostering open discussions about their own experiences.

Reading Buddies

As part of our November month of giving, teens volunteered their time at many of our Clubhouses to help younger members with reading and homework during Power Hour.

Teens Volunteer To Feed San Diego

Harper Teen Center members partnered with Feeding San Diego and cleaned and packed 2,951 pounds of sweet potatoes for various programs including the School Pantry Program that serves local San Diegans experiencing hunger!

STEM After School

Our November Robotics classes had our members actually programming with STEM2Leaf Robotics leaders. Our kids mastered if statements, infinity loops, and command-based coding which crafted custom programs for their remote-controlled airplanes. Some even wrote in creative touches, like "turbulence mode" and "emergency takeoff," showcasing impressive coding skills and making for an engaging and fun learning experience!

Back to Basics

Team Building Time!

Staff from our Allred and Polster Clubs in Carmel Valley along with our Del Mar Club united for a joint team meeting.

The meeting kicked of with a fun challenge: building a human chain and figuring out to untangle the chain using only our communication skills. The meeting culminated in the team preparing and enjoying quesabirria tacos - yum!

Celebrating 20 Years of Middle School Sports

This year's Big Blue Breakfast celebrated 20 years of our Big 8 Middle School Sports (Big 8) program. Thanks to the 80 organizations, local businesses and community members who supported the event, we surpassed our fundraising goal and raised almost $40,000.

BGC San Dieguito alumni Annie Polan and Steven Bogert shared stories, highlighting the need and impact for this program.
