November is not a time to rest at Help Give Hope
—
there’s hardly time to catch our breath!
We just concluded 320 home visits and are in the process of determining which families to accept. A benefit of this early start to our Christmas project is that even families not accepted have plenty of time to seek help elsewhere and we do offer them alternatives. The next four weeks will be filled with compiling detailed and exhaustive shopping lists for approximately
600 kids and their families
, developing plans and organizing activities for our many volunteers, ordering furniture, appliances, toiletries, food and an assortment of other family necessities, and preparing the warehouse for the onslaught of December. In fact, all bikes have been purchased and delivered!
We are also thankful to Parkview & Glendale High Schools, Drury University and Great Southern Bank for sending several armies of men and women to help clean, prepare the warehouse, and assemble boxes. This frees up our HGH team from these time-consuming activities to focus on other duties!

Take a look at this picture of our near empty warehouse. Four weeks from today (early December) it will be packed with furniture, appliances, toys, clothing, food, toiletries and a wide array of household items.
Christmas, indeed, is just around the corner and we can’t wait!

Larry and Tracy Lipscomb
Larry and Tracy have been personal supporters of Help Give Hope for many years. Along the way, they have surprised us with some amazing gestures of generosity. For example, in 2008, they gifted to us all furniture and appliances from the soon-to-be demolished Mt. Vernon Motor Lodge—which benefited many families that year. They have additionally provided free advertising for our garage sales via Pioneer Outdoor LLC.
Larry and Tracy have been married 37 years and have three children: Stuart (married to Lauren and they have two girls); Steffanie Madsen (married to Michael and the have two boys); and Andrew, currently in his last year of law school at University of Denver.
Larry has been affiliated with and served on the Board of Cox Medical Center for many years, to include serving as Chairman of the Board from ’08-’09. He previously had ownership of Pioneer Advertising and now runs Pioneer Outdoor LLC, with his son, Stuart. Larry is Chairman of Cox College and a founder and board member of Springfield First Community Bank. He additionally serves as the President of Modern Tractor and Dearborn Development (which developed Chesterfield Village) and has been on the board of numerous charitable organizations over the years, including: The Boys & Girls Club, Dickerson Park Zoo, and the Ozark Empire Fair.
Thank you Larry, Tracy and family for your loyalty, support and friendship over the years!
