TEEN CENTER STUDY BREAK

It's time to take a break from studying and celebrate the end of finals week with some awesome winter holiday games and activities at the Teen Center!


Here’s what we have lined up from December 15-19 for teens in grades 6-12:


Monday: Kick off the week with exciting holiday games and activities

Tuesday: Bring on the cuddles with therapy dog, I.V. Mateo! 

Wednesday: Dive into more holiday games and activities – let’s keep the fun going

Thursday: Celebrate the end of finals with a festive party! You deserve it!

Friday: Wrap up the week with a creative holiday activity

CALL FOR ARTWORK

The Redwood City Public Library Art Exhibit Selection Jury invites local artists to submit artworks to be considered for exhibit at the Downtown Library and Redwood Shores Branch Library between March 2026 and February 2027. The live jury selection event will take place at the Downtown Library Community Room on Thursday, February 5, 2026. Artists not able to attend the jury event in-person can also submit digital copies of artwork and artist statement by email to fpotter@redwoodcity.org by Tuesday, February 3, 2026. 


For consideration, artists must be at least 16 years old and live, work and/or volunteer with a community organization within the boundaries of the Sequoia Union High School District; or be members of the Sequoia Art Group.

HOLIDAY BAKING WITH LIBRARY CAKE PANS

Borrow a cake pan for your holiday baking! The Downtown Library has a collection of character and standard shaped pans, including a festive snowman and Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer. For images of the pans click here.

Register for United through Education-Familias Unidas


The next free session of the United through Education-Familias Unidas workshop is scheduled to begin on January 13, 2026. This workshop offers invaluable support to families, particularly newcomer families, by guiding them through academic achievement, parent engagement, and physical and mental well-being. A special focus will be placed on applying math in daily life, engaging in more STEM activities, developing a growth mindset and implementing or continuing healthy habits.


To ensure families receive their free material distribution, they must register by January 5, 2026. The material distribution will take place on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at the North Fair Oaks San Mateo County Library. The workshop will continue to be delivered in an online format, complemented by individualized family support to maximize effectiveness.

Childcare Resource Night


Join Redwood City Together for a Childcare Resource Night on December 11 from 6:30 to 8pm at 2625 Marlborough Ave, Redwood City. Discover diverse childcare options in Redwood City and North Fair Oaks, including daycare centers and home-based providers that focus on quality care and early childhood development. Families can also learn about community initiatives and enjoy free storytime with Promotores.
