When Two Worlds Collide
Woman says teens stole her car before crashing into South Dallas pizzeria
Working mom now left to pick up pieces without transportation to get to her new job.
By Cheryl Smith
A stolen car crashed into a South Dallas pizza restaurant Monday, leaving several injured, a business in turmoil and a young mother without transportation.
For two women, it was a day they would not soon forget. Dorothy Jones, owner of the popular Black Jack Pizza, was enjoying herself on Monday morning, doing the things she usually does on her day off when she got the call.
Across town Taylor Hunter, a young, struggling mother of two, was finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. She was happy because she finally had a home for her family and on Tuesday she was set to start a job that was paying well over the Texas minimum wage.

OUR VOICES:
Right To Vote Is Not Tied To A Political Party
|
By Dr. John E. Warren
It appears that our recent discussions about the importance of each of us becoming Registered Voters and using our right to vote has been taken by some as an endorsement of a political party preference, as a necessity to voting. For the record, there is no constitutional requirement of a political party affiliation as a condition of voting. One only has to declare a party affiliation in states requiring such affiliation for voting Democratic or Republican in primary races. While the Democratic and Republican parties are dominant political entities, in the State of California there are more Independent registered voters than Republicans. There are also other parties that many of you have heard of, such as Libertarian.

Vasectomy: Safe, effective, affordable birth control for men

We’ve all seen the sitcoms where the male lead is given an ultimatum: Get a vasectomy or say goodbye to sex. He freaks out, digs in, hilarity ensues, and eventually he decides to get the procedure – only to discover it was quick, easy, and much less scary than he thought. In real life, most patients are far less dramatic. But that last part is true. Vasectomy is a safe, relatively simple procedure that is more than 99% effective at preventing pregnancy.

BROOKLYN — About one year ago, a magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck Haiti on a bright
summer morning. Fifteen-hundred miles away in New York, the Haitian American Alliance of New York (HAA) joined dozens of other organizations that sprang into action to help. Within days, HAA had spearheaded a collaboration that helped collect and ship essential supplies and donations, working mostly through virtual meetings as Covid-19 was still prevalent.

The Path
As we walk through life's journey, we leave footprints. Some just show where we are going. Others redirect us when we get lost. Still others remain to guide those we leave behind. I see your footprints.
Will you/they see mine?
