UrbanLink will begin surface work and will operate under signalized conditions Starting, June 26, 2023
UrbanLink will begin surface work on the west side of the Acton Island Bridge starting Monday, June 26, 2023. During this time, the bridge will operate under signalized conditions. The majority of the work will be done under these conditions.
Although several overnight closures will still be necessary to complete critical deck work towards the end of the project, these closures will be scheduled to avoid holidays, weekends, and regular commuter traffic. Exact timelines for the closures are to be determined, but residents and stakeholders will be given at least 10 days' notice before they occur. It is important to note that Emergency Management Services (EMS) access will be maintained throughout construction, including all road closures.
The Acton Island Bridge plays a vital role in the community, and the rehabilitation project will ensure that it remains a valuable asset for many years to come.
